How old is Holly?
Holly is 23 years old...she was born in October of 1974...but i don't remeber which day, maybe on the 22nd (I'll have to update that one)
Where is Holly from?
Holly was born in Manitoba (Canada), somewhere in a small town. She then moved to Winnipeg when she was still very young. Then she headed to Vancouver for a couple of years. She now lives in Toronto.
How many albums (CDs, singles...) did she release?
She has recorded two studio albums. Her first was an E.P. called "Sour Pie" back in 1995, it was an independant release. A single for "Mr 5 minutes" was released, including a remix of the song and "Stormy". Then came "Stuff" in early 1997. This time, she signed with Universal Canada. The "Coward" single is now in stores but pretty hard to find.
What about Holly in the U.S.?
"Stuff" just came out in the United Sates and the first single (I guess it must be "Numb") is already playing on some radio stations. It will be a slow start for Holly down there but she'll make it!! She is kicking off a tour down there very soon.
What does Holly listen to?
Holly loves The Tragically Hip, K's Choice, Radiohead, Ani DiFranco, The Gandharvas, The Matthew Good Band, etc. When she was young, she listented a lot to Deep Purple. She also likes Jean Leloup. (she really has awesome music tastes, don't you think?)
Does Holly have pets?
Holly presently has two chocolate brown Labrador retrievers.
Does she smoke?
Well, this is a tough issue. Yes, she smokes but is trying to quit. DON'T offer her cigarettes because the band members will kill you (trust me on this one, I know!). It's also terrible for her voice, it could ruin it.
Does she have a boyfriend?
She has a boyfriend back in Toronto. But she was never maried with an ex-band drummer like you may have read in a magazine.
Was Holly on the Lilith Fair?
No, she explains it: "Who cares if it's a boy or a girl? Let's just ROCK!" (that's about what she said). But you can find her song "Elmo" on the Lilith Fair promo tape. Well, it seems that Holly is playing on some U.S. dates for the LF this summer... I have no clue about it... she seemed to have changed her mind.
What is that "New Song" I heard about?
Holly recently wrote a new song simply called "The new song" (or "New new song"). Nobody is sure for now if it's going to be a future b-side for "Stuff" or maybe included on the next album. She only plays it live for now and is constantly improuving it (that's why it's called the new new song).
When is "Coward" coming out as a single?
You can already hear it on the radio in Canada. The videoclip was released on friday Jan. 30th and has already aired once before on Much Music on 27/1/98. The CD single is in stores now. It includes the title song and I've hear that it had some liev tracks also, but I can't find it anywhere. You can download the Coward video in RealVideo here. If yuo really want the single, you will have to order it.
Does she read her mail from the official web site?
No, Holly doesn't have the time to read her own mail because she is always touring. An employe of Universal reads them.
How can I meet Holly?
She always greets HAMs so she often does an autograph session after the show. You'll see, she's the sweetest!
