This is an old Gemeinhardt nickel plated flute. The customer, one of the largest music stores in the southeast Missouri area, requested buffing the instrument along with a general playing condition. In this case their small investment on repairs turned into a substantial gain when the flute was sold. Take a look at the before and after photos then decide which one you would spend your money on.

The plating was almost completely gray looking instead of bright and shiny. Now look at the same flute after a chemical dip bath, a polishing buff, playing condition, and a thorough cleaning.
"I want the shiny one daddy!" your child will exclaim.
If it isn't shiny now, it could be!
