Ronan's Middle Of Nowhere Reveiw

One important thing about the Middle Of Nowhere CD is that most of the songs about girls are about relationship problems or not wanting to be away from them. Look and see if this is the way with their new CD that's suppost to be out in Winter.

Thinking Of You ***1/2

This is a pretty nice song, but it's not my favorite. it's kinda' hard to understand what they're saying for the most part of the song. And, also, being a guy that I am, I don't find the romantic shine that so many girls do. Other than that this song is really great. It's up beat and easy, and if you listen really closely you can hear Tay and his complecated keyboard solo.

MMMBop*****

Ahhhhhh, MMMBop! What a fresh breath of air. This is the song that brought my attention to Hanson. I think they really did it this time. I can say that every morning since I got the CD I have listened to this paticular track. It puts me in a good mood even though it's basicly about loosing friends of a lifetime. Theres a certain feeling I get when it starts, a kinda relaxed sureness. They truely excelled in this song.

Weird ***1/2

Weird. I thought I would like it more. This is a very laid back song. I'd recomend listening to it if you're a bit sad. It is definety not an up-beat song. It's kinda slow and "sarrowsome." This song is basicly about being un accepted in the world, which Hanson is not. I can identify with this song completely. I have been rejected a lot of my life for my veiws and apperence. You should just see me. For the most part it's alright.

Speechless ***

I didn't really go for this paticular song. It was.....well.....not my style. It was, yet again, written for a female audience, of which I am not. I'm sure if I was a girl I'd find it better. Aside from my dang male point of veiw this song is just fine.

Where's The Love*****

Yes, finally a song with some more character. The paticular song delivers a piece that not many of the others can. Now I know it was written to a female audience, again, but I still like it. Taylor sings the lead in this song until however Isaac breaks in singing a part that only he of the trio could. It's almost releaving to hear his voice.

Yearbook ****1/2

Finnaly! A song not written to a female audence. I'd have to say I really like this one. Maybe becuase it's the longest. One major thing I noticed that I thought uncanny was the message of Yearbook. Even though Tay says that there isn't really a solid meaning to Yearbook the song seems to bear a resemblence to the aleged JFK assasination conspiracy. Look at the lyrics.

Look At You ****3/4

I guess I really liked this song. After all I gave it "****3/4" stars. I don't like to say this but this song is by far the dirtiest one of the CD. And look how dirty it is. No, it isn't really THAT bad. It's just how you look at it. Like the "get on the floor" bit. I'd have to say that towards the end when Zac is screaming "Lets do it!" and "Turn me loose like a one eyed goose!" is the best part. It's pretty funny when you first hear it.

Lucy ****

I used to really avoid this song. It kinda' put me in a bad mood all the time. But since I sat down and started to listen to it the song began to grow on me. Now there are reports that Zac or Tay sing this song. Whoever sang it did a pretty good job. And another good thing about this song is that it isn't written to a female audence. It's more about being stupid and leaving someone you care for. Did anybody notice the end of the song where the lyrics say "I love Lucy"? I thought that was so corny.

I Will Come To You *****

Absolute 5-star material. I wouldn't be suprised at all to see this song on a movie sound-track. I'd have to say by far they put the largest amount of emotion into this song. A cool thing about this song is the instraments used. If you listen carefully through the whole you can hear many different instraments. I just think it's great when lots of orcestra instraments are used in a song, like this. I'd love to get the trombone sheet music for this, if there is any.

A Minute Without You ****1/2

This song got close to 5-stars but not quite. I know you're getting irritated by this but it's true, it was written for a female audence, but that didn't affect my rating, it's still a pretty cool song. It's about being a minute without someone. As if you couldn't figure it out from the title. It's an up-beat kinda' song also. The major reason I gave it a "****1/2" was because of it's chorus. I love it. I sometimes get so worked up into it. I'm not making any sence.

Madeline ***

Yeah, I didn't like this one a whole lot. I used to know a lady named Madeline when I was about 5. But I'm sure you don't really care that much do you. Well, I just didn't see a "spiritual" side to this. I mean it's not bad, I like it just fine, I just well....ya' know....couldn't "get into it."

With You In Your Dreams****1/2

I liked this song alright. As far as I know this song was written to commemorate the death their late grandmother. And what an excellent job they did of it too. I'm sure this paticular song was an outlet for their sarrow. I'd also like to hear this one with an orchestra. It has a lot of opportunity with instraments.

Man From Milwaukee (Garage Mix) *****

Okay, this song totally kicks! Imagine the work-out Ike gets on the guitar for this song, not to mention Zac on the drums. Uhg! Well, back to the song.....it kicks. I think of the main reasons I like this song is because of its origonality. It's about an alien! Zac, I know you wrote it and you did a dang good job! This is absolutely my kinda' song. Sorta obscure, original, provocative, and most of all, it kicks.

Well that's it. I'm sure that you disagree with some of the ratings that I gave. Just remember one thing: I'm nothing offical, you might find some importance in a song that I don't. It's just a matter of opinion. Please feel free to e-mail me.
