Why cats don't like to be brushed
Cats are perfect, and they know they are perfect and they expect you to know it
as well. Therefore, when you brush a cat, you are implying that they cannot
take care of their own hygiene, and that they need brushing, and that they are
not perfect. This is very insulting to the cat in question, which is why they
get very sharp and pointy when you approach them with a brush.
