- dividend -- in the 70s the Alaska state goverment set up a fund called the Alaska State Permanent Dividend Fund using money they got from taxes on oil companies. Most of it is invested in places and it grows every year. Every Alaskan citizen gets an equal chunk ofa portion of the earnings every fall. In 1997, I got about $1000, just for living here.
- 'rana ochi rana, pteetsi ooleetat nayoot sabrana' -- this is a phrase in russian which comes from a russian cd I have and often gets stuck in my head. I don't have an exact translation, but it goes something like 'early very early, birds flying away '
- snoose -- chewing tabacco
- 'yozhi' -- this a russian word which means 'hedgehogs.' One hedgehog would be 'yozh.'
