Yesterday, in my sixth hour class, everyone was sitting peacefully, doing things regarding Yugoslavian/Balkan history. David went to go take a drink. Nick went to photocopy a map.

Nick returned. "Mr. Zorbas, are lockers supposed to buzz?" Everyone looked up. "Because there's one down on the sophomore hall that is." He proceeded to discuss the location of the locker in question. "Don't kid around," Mr. Zorbas said. "No, I'm not kidding. It is buzzing."

At this point, I was thinking BOMB. I was thinking Littleton. I was thinking, okay, let's just leave the building. NOW!

David returned. "Locker 61 is buzzing," he said. Mr Zorbas asked why he was down in the sophomore hall if he was getting a drink, as there's a fountain right across the hall. "Oh, I got four drinks." David is treated to a short lecture.

The class was looking uneasy, and muttering. Mr. Zorbas made a phone call, I'm assuming to the vice-principal. "hey, why don't you go out in the sophomore hall, check out the lockers." A meaningful look, and the class went back to work, but it wasn't long til the bell rang and the school day was over.

Everyone rushed out of the classroom, and downstairs. "We'll get down there," I joked to Melissa, "and Mr. Wilbanks will be, like, 'everybody run!'"

By the office I see the vice-prinicipal and another of the disciplinary type teachers exiting the sophomore hall.

Across the hall from my locker, in fact, exactly across from my locker, is locker 61. It belongs to a girl I know, Karli, and she was babysitting a furby that day.

End of class, they called her down to the office and asked her if locker 61 was hers, and did she know it was buzzing? She laughed, and when she got to her locker, they were searching it.

Well, that furby was low on batteries, and it just figured that everyone should know.

I walked outside with Karli, and we passed the vice-prinicipal. "Is Furby going home?" he asked.

She said. "Yup!"
