Hi everyone! If you got this email from me, Dreadknux, then obviously you are a nominee in the Sonic Site Awards 2001. If you hadn't already known that for some time now, erm.... why? nless you have forgotten, I gave emails to all nominees the same way as I am doing now, albeit a generic email for you all to make things easier for me.
Aaaanyway, Sonic Site Awards has been a rip-roaring, trouser-messing success. Certainly even excited me, I'm sure no-one had an idea of how popular this whole thing will be. You were all nominees plainly because your site was either voted by someone else or by yourself into the final polls (PHASE II) from PHASE 1, where everyone had a free running into the awards.
You lucky lucky people made it into PHASE II at the end of October (I think, it was ages since the second phase started), and since then, possibly unbeknown to you lot, people have been voting in their massives to make sure one of you gets each of the 12 prestigous awards on offer. I know, because I made the foolish mistake of making a form out of the polls instead of a proper poll, where no-one could look at the results for (Note for next year... ^_^)
Well, finally, PHASE II has ended, and now all that's left is the announcing of the winners. If you skipped this entire email just to find out who's won, well, good for you, because the rest of the email has been waffle, but it's all been in vain I'm afraid. :)
The reason I'm teasing all of you with the results is because I'm going all the way for a third phase. Oh yes. The Sonic Site Awards 2001: Phase 3: The Ceremony is the end of year party where all Sonic fans and you lot obviously come to the site to find out who has won what award.
I'll make the details as short and sweet as possible, I know most of you have a website to run. Basically, Phase 3 is the final step in my devious plan. The Sonic Site Awards is not only about who's won what, but about the WHOLE Sonic online community getting together and having fun. Of course aswell it's about who's won what ^_^
So here's the deal. The venue is the Sonic Stadium - my site. However, a few days before the Stadium will not be there - instead the official awards page will replace it. From there you can access a special Chat Room, the Message Board, and Sega Sonic Radio, my Radio Station.
The reason the Chat Room is online is so that all visitors - including you 'orrible lot ^_^ can take a break from websites for just a few hours and chill out and chat to other Sonic fans online. People already know you're going to turn up, but I'll tell them to lay off the TSSZ, Moogle Cavern etc praising, ripping your virtual trousers off ala Tom Jones or whatever, unless you like praise in which case be my guest.
My Radio Station, Sega Sonic Radio will be online too. This is crucial to the awards, as the winners will be announced, BY ME, via my first ever Live Broadcast for my Radio Station. I will include cool Sonic music, and special mp3 remixes from Fans as well. After the ceremony Live Broadcast, I will broadcast my first edition of Sega Sonic Radio: LiVECAST. The Radio Station, combined with the Chat Room, should make it a cool experience for everyone, and just what the doctor ordered for a chill out from website updating, and a final Sonic community gathering of the year.
The date of the event is the 29th December 2001. That's the LAST SATURDAY of the month. The time, I tried to make a happy medium between the UK and the US, so people living in the UK should turn up before 3:00pm, and those living in the US should turn up online before 10:00am.
It should be great fun, and if you wish, please prepare a speech, either for yourselves to place on the Chat Room (or the Message Board, as you know how fast Chat Rooms can be), or can be given to me to read out in case you can't make the event. But PLEASE all of you, you are special guests to my party, and it would be disaster if you could not make it. It just wouldn't be the same without the nominees, who's heard of an awards without all the nominees turning up? o_O
However, if you can't make it for a genuine reason (I'm only accepting time zones at the moment, like Matt's situation, but I sincerely hope you don't try to get out of it), then email me back as soon as possible with the problem. I'll understand if your reason is valid, and try to run the show without, if you can't make it please prepare a speech for me to read out for you, even if you think you won't win.
Finally I wish EACH and EVERY one of you nominees the best of luck in the awards, and hope that your sites continue to stay as cool as they are today. The visitors, fans and people of the Sonic online fan community have voted for all of you, and it's the vote of the people that counts. GOOD LUCK, and please turn up!... please? ^_^
Chao,
Dreadknux ^_^
