Hanson fanfiction
Hanson fanfiction
I have a problem with fanfiction written about bands. I mean, if authors get upset over their fictional characters being warped, how are real people going to feel about being written as the romantic leads in stories by people who don't know them?
Hansonites don't suffer from such qualms - there are thousands of Hanson fanfics in existence. Like all categories of fanfics, about eighty percent of them are avater fics - the sort where the author acts out her insecurities through creating a character who is intelligent, wise, beautiful, has a perfect comeback to every insult, and has many enemies with the intelligence of paste and no motive for their hatred other than envy towards the perfect one.
Only the mode of introducing the character differs in these fanfics, and even then, they all use one of the same seven or so. For you aspiring young writers who no one's thought to show the ropes, here's a primer -
A girl moves to Tulsa A girl moves to Tulsa, right next door to Hanson, usually. One of the Hanson brothers is immediately attracted to her beauty and great musical talent (not well-expressed by the author's obligatory attempt to write a song), and friendship quickly grows into love. This can be combined with several of the below.
The more-than-just-friends A girl has always been the closest friend of one of the Hanson brothers. One day it dawns that they have been fooling themselves, and have always been in love.
The three-girl-band A three-girl-band, with members whatever ages the Hanson brothers were at the time it was written, meets Hanson. The brothers are immediately attracted to their beauty and musical talent (not well-expressed by the author's obligatory attempt to write a song), and friendship quickly grows into love.
The three sisters Three sisters, eighteen, fifteen, and thirteen years old, meet Hanson. The brothers are immediately attracted to their beauty and, usually, musical talent, and friendship quickly grows into love.
The runaway A girl runs away from an unhappy home life, usually involving sexual abuse from a person she trusted, to hitchhike to Tulsa, where her faith in humanity is restored by the compassion and love of one of the Hanson brothers.
The fan An ardent Hanson fan pulls an idiotic stunt to get their attention. Initial incredulity and, rarely, disgust, quickly gives way to love.
The chat room A girl becomes friends with one of the Hanson brothers over the internet without knowing that it is him, and is shocked when they meet. Their friendship quickly grows into love.
The mental illness A girl becomes psychologically fixated on one of the Hanson brothers, fatally attacks him with a knife at a concert, is universally despised, is mocked with deadly accuracy on the Saturday Night Live, and dies in prison at age 71.
Remember, I'm definitely not trying to sabotage you.
Ah, yes, and below is a list of Hanson fanfiction Toni seems to enjoy used to seem to enjoy reading. I ought to remove it, as there's no point, but it gives me a quick reference when I feel like making fun of bad writing.
