An Interview With Zac on PMFM 92.9
(Perth radio station)

Jay: Hey Zac!
Zac: Hello!
Jay: How're ya doing?
Zac: Fine!
Jay: Hey Zac, the first question we wanted to know is, why are you not coming to Perth?
Zac: I don't know. I'm not the one who puts the schedules together.
Mel: Look, we've got a petition over here with over 8,000 signatures to persuade you guys to come over.
Jay: Will you come over?
Zac: I don't know. I'll have to talk to the...… people who put the schedule together.
Mel: I think you should, sunshine.
Jay: I reckon you should kick some butt there Zac, what do you say?
Zac: I say, I'll try my best!! (laughter)
Mel: Put him on the spot
Jay: Now, uh, we've actually got listeners asking you questions all through the interview today, mate. Now first up we've got Michelle and Michelle’s got a question for you Zac. Go for it Michelle.

Michelle: Ok, if you had three wishes what would they be?
Zac: ummm…. uhhh…. to have 3 more wishes..…?(laughter)
Michelle: Apart from that!?
Zac: I don't know. That's a thing you have to think about a lot.
Jay: Yeah. Okay Zac, listen mate, you played at, was it Melbourne? 20,000 people at that shopping centre, it looked insane!
Zac: It was insane!
Mel: Huge
Jay: How does this make you feel?
Zac: It makes me feel like - whoa.., all these people came to see me.
Mel: Pretty frightening
Zac: That's a little, it's a little like- "NhNaahNah" (A really weird noise) (laughter)
Jay: I think, uh, are you the trouble maker of the band, Zac, or what?
Zac: I don't know if necessarily the trouble maker, I just, I guess, I make the most noise! (laughter)
Mel: Alright!
Jay: Well you got the drums!
Mel: The youngest has gotta yell the loudest to be heard
Zac: Uhhh.... no, no, it's just I have the loudest voice. (laughter)
Jay: Hey, uh Zac, have you got like nicknames for each other that you hate being called?
Zac: Uhhhh..... no, not really, I guess our nicknames are just Ike, Zac and Tay.
Jay: Sure, nothing exciting to tell us?
Zac: Nah, I don't know.
Mel: Oh, which brother's got the most annoying habit?
Zac: Which brothers got the most annoying habit? Uhhh, I don't know. Uhhh, Ike picks his fingers, he chews his finger nails.
Jay: oh, okay, I thought you were for a sec going to say picks his nose there Zac.
Zac: No, no.
Jay: And does Tay do anything that's annoying?
Zac: uhh, Tay taps on things.
Jay: Taps on things?
Zac:He's uhhh, a frustrated drummer.
Jay: Oh, okay, aren't we all? Hey listen. I've got two brothers, now when we were younger we had secrets we didn't want Mum and Dad to find out about. Do you have any of those?
Zac: Well, you see, if we did have secrets, we wouldn't want you to know about, then we wouldn't tell you. (laughs) (Jay and Mel laugh and groan)
Jay: Oh, that's not fun! Coz I broke the window at home when I was about seven.
Mel: Yeah and probably blamed someone else.
Jay:I blamed my brother and it was me, so, there you go, it's out now. We've got a question here from Sarah. Sarah, what's your question for Zac?
Sarah: Well, firstly, Congratulations on all your successes and everything and also, did you always know you were going to famous?
Zac: Uhh, you know it wasn't, the wasn't really to be famous, it was more just because we love music, it was never about being famous and it still really isn't.
Jay: Do your parents treat you different now?
Zac: Oh, No!! Our parents have been with us the whole time, they said "If you wanna do this, then we'll help you do this and if you don't want to do this then you don't have to do this" . They don't treat us different all.
Jay:Cool. What are the other brothers doing at the moment, mate?
Zac:Ummmm, Ike is, I think playing guitar and Tay is just sitting here just…….
Jay: (interrupts) Veggin’ out. How many brothers and sisters do you have and is anyone else going to join the band ‘cause I heard on ‘Hey Hey it's Saturday’ on the weekend that, um, is it Vanessa? Maybe? Uh, Jessica, sorry.
Zac: Oh, Jessica. Uh, no, we've asked Jessica, the eldest one, if she wants to play bass and she'd go, "Hmmm. Nah. Never mind, you guys can do that, Ill go do something else." I think they wanna do their own thing.
Mel: You guys must be worth a fortune by now, how does the money actually work, do you get an allowance or is it like a total free-for-all?
Zac: Umm, it's, you know, no, we don't get an allowance, that stuffs kinda a free-for-all.
Jay and Mel: Yeah! Wicked! Spend it as you like, cool!!
Jay: Whoa Zac, I'm going out with you, man! Kristy has a question now. What's your question, Kristy?
Kristy: I just wanna know if your personality has changed since you became famous?
Zac: No, I mean, I haven't changed at all, I'm still Zac and I was Zac before the single got big, so, no, not really. I guess I'm just the same person.
Jay:How does the tutoring work on the road Zac?
Zac: Umm, we like to call it ‘Hotel School’, it's basically, we just do our school in the morning before we do interviews, yeah....(laughs). I mean, it's just basically regular school, ‘cept we're on the other side of the world. (laughs)
Mel:Right now, Zac, what's your favourite song off the album?
Zac: Oh no…………
Jay:You can't say ‘Where's the Love’ or ‘MMMBop’
Zac:Ohhh, I'm going to say, ‘Man From Milwaukee’ (Zac does intro and song starts)
Jay: Zac, do you ever have a really bad fight with one of the other brothers and say, " Oh, that's it, I'm gonna quit"?
Zac: Umm, not really, I mean we've said "uhhh, lets stop" then our parents go "well, do you wanna mow lawns for the rest of your lives?" and we go "Nah" (laughs)
Jay: So, the band sticks around
Mel: I've got a bit of a word association for you Zac, just say whatever pops into your head when you hear these alright?
Mel:Spice girls.
Zac: I dunno
Mel: Me either, that's the whole thing. Ummm, Hairdressers.
Zac: Umm, bad hair day
Mel: Pauline Hanson
Zac: umm, who's Pauline Hanson.
Jay and Mel: Yaaaay!
Mel: Screaming fans.
Zac: Umm..Awesome!
Jay: Okay, we've got Tori here with a question. Tori what's your question to Zac?
Tori: Have you seen a koala bear yet?
Zac: Yeah, I thought they were just............ sitting there. (laughs)
Jay: And did you actually think that we ride kangaroos over here? Did anyone tell you that when you were in the States?
Zac: No!! no, I haven't heard that.
Jay:Well, that's what we tell people.
Mel:Were you expecting to see kangaroos bouncing across the street?
Zac: Uh, no, I was hoping maybe we'd see a kangaroo bounce across the street but I'm beginning to think we won't. (Break)
Jay: Hot 40, PMFM 92.9, ah, we're in the middle of the top 4 and we just played MMMBop, we're about to get into Where's The Love, could it be number one tonight? What do you reckon Zac? Should it be?
Zac:Ahhh, I hope so (laughter)
Jay: Now can we talk you guys around, can, you know, if we put up the money, ummmm, you know, would you come over here?
Zac: Ahhhh, I don't know!!!
Jay: You don't know?
Zac: We have to talk to the people who make the schedule
Mel: I think you should
Jay: Well, we've got a lot of signatures here, it's a shame that you aren't coming to Perth, but we hope, ahhh, is there any plans on coming back to Australia soon and doing a gig, like ahhh, shows around the country?
Zac: Wait one sec…….. we, oh, they're telling me we have to finish up, but you know, as far as a tour ahhh, hopefully ahhhh, next year we'll….. be……doing a tour, early next year, in the spring and you know that'll be in the States and then hopefully we'll go to Australia and…… all over the place!!
Jay: OK, we've got one more question from our listener Holly, Holly what was your question for Zac?
Holly:What's it been like growing up in Tulsa, and what does it look like and……
Zac: I don't know, uhhhh……for me, Tulsa is just where I was born and it's where…. (Someone says "You weren't born there" in the background")
Zac: Actually, wasn't born there (laughs) well, I mean, I don't know, Tulsa, Tulsa isn't just dirt roads, there are paved roads there, ahhhh Tulsa has really founded like earlier so I don't know, growing up in Tulsa, ……… I've never really grown up anywhere else so I wouldn't know.
Jay: Listen Zac, thank you for your time mate, I know you've got such a busy schedule, say hello to the rest of the brothers for us and if you wouldn't mind, could we get you to introduce the number one song in a couple of minutes?
Zac:OK
Jay:OK, thanks (Break)
Zac: (Funny voice) and now, the number one song…....…WHERE’S THE LOVE!!

An Interview with Isaac on Triple M
(Perth radio station)

Bad Boy Ben: Hi Isaac
Isaac: Hello
Ben: How are you, man?
Isaac: I am just fine
Ben: Now, how many interviews have you done since you arrived in Australia?
Isaac: Umm....over 20!
Vixen: Over 20, hey?
Ben: And the other brothers have done about 20 as well?
Isaac: Uhhhhh…..I’m sure, well, you know we generally do the, uhhhh, do the interviews together.
Ben: We have a triple M, top 40 reality check, you ready for some questions?
Isaac: Ummmm, Sure!
Ben: OK, what’s the best thing about being in Hanson?
Isaac: I think probably the opportunity to get to do something that you really love with with you know guys that you love to hang  out with guys you really love to hang out with, uhhhh, referring to my brothers (laughs) and uhhhh…… just getting the opportunity to fly around the world and get to do your music.
Vixen: Excellent and what’s the worst thing about being in Hanson, Isaac?
Isaac: Ummmmm
Vixen: Or is there not a bad point?
Isaac: (laughs) Well you know, the thing is, there are a lot of things that are not necessarily the greatest that stuff like you know  you generally just try to focus on the positive stuff coz if you, if you focus on the negative stuff too much you may get kind of, become a downer.
Vixen: I understand now
Ben: We have a question from Monica who’s uhhhh, in the booth with us.
Monica: How has uhhhh, the three of you being as a group effected your family lifestyle?
Isaac: Well, actually, uhhhh, you know it’s just being a group and being you know, the band I think were actually better friends because of all the times that we spend together, I mean we really spend a times that we spend together, I mean we really spend  a lot of time together anyway and we really get along very, very well
Ben: Otherwise you would have killed each other by now
Isaac: Yeah, otherwise we’d all be dead, there would be no Hanson, so you know ummm, we get along very, very well and we have a great time doing it.
Ben: What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever said or done to you, Isaac?
Vixen: Whoa…..this is gonna be long!
Isaac: Luckily, there hasn’t been too much weird stuff ahhhh, people do send all sorts of stuff in the mail, uhhhh, just like big  banners of you know, like someone sent us a big piece of paper and it looked just like a piece of and then we unfolded it and it’s like this 8 foot banner and it says like I Love Hanson or something on it and then they send you portraits of yourself and you go "Oh wow nice, I don’t have any zits, that’s good!" (Laughs)
Ben: And, how many marriage proposals?
Isaac: Ahhh, lots, lots
Vixen: I bet, now what would you do on an ideal day off Isaac?
Isaac: Uhhhh, probably just ahhhhh, you know just do whatever I felt like doing, uhhhhh, rollerblading, playing basketball, something like that, hanging out with friends, playing computer games, who knows?
Ben: And, what about the band Hanson are you quite wanting to keep going on as far as you possibly can or do you see it sort of splitting up at some stage and you guys going off to do solo stuff or…......
Isaac: I definitely think we’ll be the band for as long as we can be the band , I mean we really get along very, very well and as far as I can see I mean, if things, you know stay the way they are, I mean we’re really good friends and I think it will hopefully stay that way for a long time.
Ben: What about the fact that, I mean you guys are really, really young as far as going in a band is concerned and having the success that you’ve got. Do you feel that puts extra pressure on you?
Isaac: Well, you know, I think it’s actually a great opportunity as far as, the fact that this is something we’ve really wanted to do  from the very beginning, I mean, I started writing songs in third grade and Taylor and Zac very soon after started writing songs really, music has always been very much a part of us, that we’ve always just had this love for and so to get to do all this is such a great experience, you know I mean it’s, I mean, again hopefully something we’ll get to do for a very long time and uhh, you know pressure……there’s definitely uhh you know there’s things that are hard , you know, along with something that’s good, there are things that are hard.
Vixen: Right and ahh just finally Isaac, why do you think Ben is a Bad Boy?
Isaac: I think Ben’s a Bad Boy because he’s on the radio and can be himself and that’s scary! (Laughs)
Vixen: You have no idea do you? It’s wrong, it’s wrong!!
Ben: I think possibly you hit the nail on the head without even realising it.
Vixen: I know it’s like you two are best buddies or something from way back ya know
Ben: Oh, Isaac and me,……….we just met like two minutes ago.
Isaac: Yeah, we’ve been together a long time now. (Laughs)
Ben: Thank you so much for some of your valuable time Isaac.
Isaac: Oh, thank you very much
Ben: Have a wonderful stay while you’re here in Australia
Isaac: OK, we will
Ben: There he goes, Isaac from Hanson………
