Descendants of Jessie MacLean and Walter Pearson

Jessie MacLean was married to Walter A. Pearson. Walter was born in India, where his father was an officer in the British Army. At an early age Walter enlisted in the Royal Field artillery, and was for several years stationed on the N.W. Indian Frontier, and attained the rank of Sergeant. He then came to Glasgow, and for many years was employed as a foreman in the Clydeside ship building yards. In 1921, he emigrated to Prince Edward Island, where he remained for over five years, after which he retured to Scotland with his wife Jessie and his grand-daughter, Marie who was born in September 1917 and came to reside in retirement at the Villa,Balnain,Glen-Urquhart. Walter had one sister, Mrs. May Masterton of Glasgow. Jessie MacLean died on November 3, 1950 in Glen-Urquhart, Inverness-Shire, Scotland.


3rd GENERATION


Marie Pearson was born in September 1917. Marie immigrated to Canada in 1921 with her grandparents, Jessie and Walter Pearson when she was only 4 years old. They came aboard the T.S.S. Cameronia and landed in Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 28th, 1921. They stayed with James, Florence, Catherine and Mary Ellen for five years, and in 1926 they returned to Scotland. Marie married Jack MacDonald and they had one daughter - Gladys MacDonald who was born on April 24, 1935.

After the Second World War, Marie and Jack MacDonald adopted two boys - James (age 11) and Walter (age 6) who suffered from Ashma...their parents died during the war.
