Native Youth Olympics
NYO is a sport in the state of Alaska where participants compete in activities which relate directly to Native culture.
Events include the seal hop, the one arm reach, the Alaskan high kick, kneel jump, scissors broad jump, stick pull, one-foot high kick, two-foot high kick, and leg wrestling. These pictures were taken at the district meet where athletes from Yupiit School District meet to decide who gets to go to the state wide competition held at Anchorage. There is also a link to see the girls pictures, but trust me, there not as exciting.
