FIVE DAYS OF AFFORDABLE FUN
You and your friends or family (maximum 5 persons) are about to share an unforgettable 5-day adventure cruising to the most remote, least visited corners of Alaska’s Alexander Archipelago.
Determined by your particular interests, our itinerary will include rarely visited wilderness on National Forest islands or the spectacular off-shore islands of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. Each evening we will anchor at a different location, with plenty of time for shore excursions. Stable kayaks will allow us close-up observations and yet we will be able to return to dry bunks and a hot shower. The "Loon" takes us through the "big water" in safety and comfort allowing us more time to spend exploring remote, secluded places by paddle. You will enjoy wildlife observation, beach exploring, hiking, fishing, kayaking, or opportunities for solitude as suits your fancy. Venturing off the beaten track, far from the package tour ship crowd, you will encounter a vast area of unspoiled wilderness and incomparable beauty. Get ready for an unforgettable adventure, one that’s uniquely tailored to your requirements, ranging from relaxing, romantic, flat-water scenery to highly adventurous off-shore explorations.
We sail from Craig, Alaska Monday afternoon, returning five days later. Craig is located on the west coast of Prince of Wales Island, about 40 miles west of Ketchikan, Alaska. Alaska Airlines flies five non-stop jets daily from Seattle to Ketchikan, a 90-minute flight, with frequent scheduled floatplane service between Ketchikan and Craig. Alternatively, one may "drive" to Craig via the Alaska Marine Highway (the State operated ferry system) embarking from Bellingham, Washington or Prince Rupert, British Columbia. If desired, overnight accommodations are available in both Ketchikan and Craig. We will return to Craig by Saturday noon, in time for you to be back in Seattle on Saturday night. Return can also be arranged from a remote location via direct float plane pickup.
