Chapter 35

I stood in my spot, looking around. I chewed my lower lip and fiddled with the suitcase handle, not knowing what else to do.

Where are you Nick? I had been waiting outside of the crowded airport for a few minutes and I was beginning to get scared that he wasn't coming. People were pushing past me to get inside so I moved farther from the entrance.

I searched the parking lot again, no sign of anything, not that I would recognize him, it had been too long without him.

"Amanda?" I stopped in my tracks and silently prayed that I wasn't hearing things. The voice repeated. "Amanda?" I turned on my heel and came face to face to the tall blonde I've come to love.

"Nick!" My heart raced and I felt a surge of heat flow through my body regardless of the comfortable temperature. "Nick!" I repeated and slowly walked over to him.

"I can't believe you're here." We were an inch apart, so close I could feel his sweet breath on my face.

"I can't either," I whispered. I slowly smiled and hugged him tightly, afraid to let go. My smile spread into a grin and my heart continued to race. I knew Nick felt the exact same way, I could feel his heart pounding ferociously against my chest.

"Come on. We can get you settled in with me at the hotel." He pulled away from me and grabbed my hand. He felt so soft, so smooth. My body let out a long shiver.

"Are you cold?" he asked in response to my bodily action.

"No, I'm just nervous, excited, and scared, all in one." I was afraid he'd laugh but he only nodded and replied.

"Me too." Nick led me to the car he had driven which was a silver Celica.

"So what will we be doing while we're in Canada? I've got one short, short week, and I want to spend as much time as I can with you." I leaned in to kiss him before he sped off.

"Well...I dunno. I've got a few ideas in mind, but I'm still doing some things for work. We've got a video shoot, photo shoot, and even a television appearance the day after tomorrow."

"Really? So you're gonna use some of my time with you for work? I see how it is..." I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Amanda!" he shouted looking at me exasperated.

"I was kidding!" I placed my hand on his knee. "Get a grip. Your girlfriend is a little more understanding than that."

"Uh huh," he said sarcastically with a smile on his face.

We chit-chatted the rest of the way to the hotel and before I knew it, we were inside of his gorgeous room.

The size was overwhelming. Luxurious furniture, large vertical windows that led to a balcony, a huge television, and of course, a king sized water bed. It was a site to remember.

"Gee Nick. Looks like you're already in the money!" I ran my finger along the glass end table. Not a speck of dirt or dust.

"I usually don't do this. But I thought why not? I wanted to let you have the best of the best, since that's what you are to me." I grinned speechlessly until he continued. "And I had a little extra cash. I thought this would be nice."

"And you're right." I grabbed his hand. "Come here." I brought him in for a pleasant kiss. "So, what now?"

"Well I was thinking we could go shopping and out to eat." Nick looked at me to see my response. "Or," he said continuing and reaching for my hand. "we could stay here, catch up, and order in."

"Maybe we really should stay in." I pulled him backwards toward the bedroom. "I'd like to catch up on old times." I laid down on the bed and he curled up next to me. "What do you want to talk about?"

"It doesn't matter. Just as long as I can hear your reassuring voice and hold you in my arms." He pulled me closer and brushed my hair aside to kiss my neck.

"Same here...same here." I yawned feeling jet lag sweep over me and slowly fall asleep back in the arms of Nick.
