"Nick, aren't you supposed to be in Canada?"
"Yes, but I took the quickest flight possible here. I needed to see you. Can I come in?" I hesitated.
"What's the point? Didn't you read my letter? You know why this could never be."
"Of course I read it, but we need to talk. I know you still love me, and I love you too."
"Fine...come in, come in." I held the door open for him and closed it afterwards. "Let's go upstairs."
We headed up to my room and I closed my bedroom door once there.
"What Nick? Why did you fly all the way here?" I sat down on my bed and he followed.
"I came home from the photo shoot and saw that you weren't there. You left without even saying goodbye Amanda!"
"I wrote you a letter..."
"But it wasn't the same. If you had only waited until I got home then maybe you would have received my gift." He pulled out a black ring box and handed it to me. I sighed but opened it up.
"Why did you do this?" I asked.
"Because I love you. I bought this for you so you can know that I love you and every second that we're not together I'm missing you."
"What would happen if I touched your hair, because it's so soft and I love how it feels as I wind it between my fingers?" Nick twisted a lock of my hair around his index finger and a tear slid down my cheek.
"Nick..."
"And what would happen if I kissed you? And never wanted to stop?" I closed my eyes as Nick reached in for a soft kiss.
"What would you say if I told you that I love you? And that I want to love you, that I am going to, love you like I do forever?" I looked up into his eyes.
"And what would you do if I placed this very ring on your finger, and asked you to never take it off?"
"I'd say that I agree," I said for my first real response.
"She speaks..." We laughed and he reached forward to wipe away my tear. "I almost died when I came home to find you not there."
"I almost died when I realized that I would possibly never see you or speak to you again."
"So what do you say? Will you take me back? And never let me go again?"
"Of course. I promise you Nick."
