The wind lightly blew over my fur as I walked down the street. I didn't live with any family; I was all alone in an abandoned building a couple blocks away. I turned back around to return to my home.
I always kept myself well fed with food from the trash can outside of a restaurant, but no matter how much I ate I always looked like I was starving. I liked it that way. I wasn't a stupid cat either, I was a genius, a mastermind, but I was also evilly insane.
For months now I have been planning to put one cat through one long nightmare, a nightmare in which he'd never awaken. I had be planning and working on this, and I had everything in order. All I needed now was a cat.
I stopped for a while to look around. I could see the corner of my building
from here, I could also see the restaurant, but there was one thing that I had
yet to look at. It was a junkyard that sat to my left, opposed from my right
which my building was located. So I slowly turned and looked at the junkyard,
'yes,' I thought to myself, 'I must look here before I leave.' So I walked over
to the junkyard and started to
enter, but I heard something.
"Whose there?" came a whisper which startled me. "I should ask you the same." I hissed back. I looked in the direction from which the voice came, but a tap on my shoulder came from the other side. I spun around to find the cat who had touched me, I looked at this cat while being careful of the behind me.
The cat sat in front of me, no doubt the one who had touched me. I studied
him for
a second, he was a bit smaller than myself, he was black with the exception of
his face, chest where it was white. He studied me as well, I sat down and just
stared back. Finally, he spoke. " Who are you?"
I was in shock. It was the same cat that was behind me! They had the exact same voice. This shocked me, but I quickly recovered and just shook my head. " Just a cat with no family." I replied forcing a frown.
The cat sadly nodded his head. Then he looked back at me. "My name is Mistoffelees." I smiled to myself. 'Mistoffelees, hmm?' I thought, 'Yes, he'd do nicely...' from then on, my plan was set. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This cat was very different indeed. I think I scared him when we first met, but it was hard to tell. I noticed how thin he was, no doubt he hadn't eaten for days. He also didn't look very strong, so I invited him to stay over at my house, but he declined. He told me that he approved his home under a bench.
I tried to protest, but he had a strong will, one I could not bend. He started to walk away, then I decided to show him to Munkustrap the next day. "Hey, wait!" I called after him, "I didn't catch your name!"
He looked back at me, a look of shock crossed his face. "Oh, I'm sorry
for being so impolite! My name is Benfrilen." He called back. I nodded and
smiled. "Alright Benfrilen, meet me back here tomorrow at noon!" He
nodded and walked off, but as
he walked away I noticed he had a limp in his left front leg. I walked back to
my home awaiting the morning so I could take the cat to Munkustrap.
I walked in the door and one of my pets, the younger one, walked up to me and
picked me up. I winced, I hated it when they did that, it always knocked the air
out of me for a second. "You're quiet today, aren't you Tux?" I
struggled to get out of her arms. "Hmm, that's odd. Tux usually loves to be
held." Then the bigger pet walked
up. "Don't worry, I'm sure that that's his way of saying he loves
you." I glared back at my pet and quickened my pace when the younger tried
to follow.
As I turned the corner I heard the older laugh loudly. I rolled my eyes as I walked by the window. I soon forgot about the scene that just occurred and looked out the window. I could have sworn something was outside. I looked for a second, but saw nothing. So I shrugged and walked off.

I jumped back up on the ledge so I could look in the house. I breathed a sigh of
relief. I had almost been caught, but I wasn't and proceeded to follow the young
black and white cat. I had a hard time keeping up when he climbed the stairs,
but I jumped on a tree and onto the roof.
I soon found a window the looked into a room that was all pink. No doubt the little girl's room. As I watched I soon saw Mistoffelees walk into the room and jump onto the bed. 'So this is where he sleeps.' I said to myself. 'Well Benfrilen, tomorrow, we're gonna make this fellow as sick as he's ever gonna know.' So I left to go back to my building, making a small detour to sneak away some chocolate from a store.
When I reached my home I set the sack with the poison chocolate in it. I pulled out the chocolate and with my claw I carved the word 'Mistoffelees' in it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking to the JunkYard wasn't easy today. 'Must have been something I ate.' I thought to myself. My food that I ate tasted different this morning, nothing bad, just different. My stomach felt like it was being ripped open, yes it hurt that bad. Even a couple of time I felt nausea come upon me. I had to stop and wait for it to pass before walking on.
As I came closer to the JunkYard, it seemed that my head throbbed in time to my walking. Every step I took I wished that I had stayed home. As I entered the JunkYard I saw that cat from yesterday. I wanted to hit myself in the head for forgetting, but that would be torture.
He kinda looked at me strangely. "You okay?" Benfrilen asked me.
"I'll be fine." I told him. I started to walk off with him in a close
second. I quickly saw Victoria, walking towards her, I knew I had to lie down
soon. "Hey Vic, could you take Benfrilen to Munkustrap?" I asked her.
Victoria glared at Benfrilen and me. "I have BETTER things to do!" she
snapped as she walked off. I groaned and my head pounded. "Oww...." I
moaned as I passed out.

I inwardly smiled as Mistoffelees fell as heap on the ground. 'So,' I thought, 'he found my little treat.' But everything turned to chaos when a black and white spotted cat ran up and looked at Mistoffelees.
He glanced at me for a second but soon turned and started yelling at a certain 'Munk'. Soon, many cats were running up, but one seemed to keep order. I studied him for a second, noticing all of his muscles. This was one cat that I did not want to fight. He was grey with black stripes, a silver tabby. I assumed that this was the 'Munk' that had been called over.
He turned around a motioned the other cats to be quiet. "Let's put him somewhere and take care of him first, then," turning to me he said, "I want you to tell me what happened." The silver tabby said. Then a tall cat with a mane walked up and picked up Mistoffelees and carried him off, the rest of the cats retreated with them. Then the silver tabby turned to me. "Who are you?" he asked me.
"My name is Benfrilen. Mistoffelees met me yesterday and told me to be here today." I explained in an innocent voice. The cat nodded and said. "My name is Munkustrap, and I'll talk to you later, alright?" I nodded.
"Will he be alright?" I called. Munkustrap looked at me and said. "I hope so." My look of concern quickly turned into a scorn. 'Of course he won't be alright!' I inwardly screamed. Even so, my thoughts were focused on the silver tabby. A fight cat I thought. Then the thought came to my mind. That silver tabby might get in the way. Yes, if I were to fully have this plan work he indeed must be gone. Yes, the silver tabby would be next.
I had been questioned about everything I had been doing when the Mistoffelee's incident occurred. They obviously suspected me of the crime, but their opinions were soon changed by my innocent attitude. As I now pace in my home, thinking of a way to rid myself of certain obstacles. I learned that the certain 'Munk' was called 'Munkustrap' but 'Munk' for short. One problem.
Another was the black and white tom that was first to aid Mistoffelees. This 'Alonzo' must be gone too. Third, the large mained cat that took Mistoffelees to help, his name is 'Rum Tum Tugger'. He didn't seem to be such a problem when some females were around, but if he weren't to be distracted he could kill me easily. Third problem. As I thought I knew that each would have to have a different thing happen to them so it wouldn't look as suspicious.
Then I remembered hearing about a cat that they
suspected, a certain 'Macavity'. A grin spread across my face as I now had
someone to put the blame on. Now I had one thing off my mind, now I just needed
things to do to these 'problems' to get them out of the way. "Problem
number 1," I said aloud the new name for this 'Munkustrap', "he is
obviously the leader, once he is out of the way, things will be easier."
Ideas
came to my head, but I didn't agree but with one.
First, I must find where he lives.

I looked around the Junk Yard from my perch on the tire. Alonzo sat beside me and we talked about the weather, the Jellicle Ball, how Misto was doing and other little things. We both looked up at one point and saw the new cat that was by Misto when he collapsed. "I don't trust him." Alonzo said to me, and I didn't want to judge, but I agreed with him. I didn't like the way he looked, he looked like someone that worked for pekes. I narrowed my eyes as he approached, I also didn't like the look in his eyes, I swear you could tell that he was plotting against us behind those eyes.
Everytime he said something, his eyes said another, it just wasn't right. And because of that, I didn't want him here. "Hello." He said calmly in a voice that made me shudder.
Alonzo glared at him while I replied. "Hello." The cat stood before us and held his head high, I could've sworn he had just grinned. "And how is Mistoffelees?"
Alonzo hissed, "Why would you care?"
The cat looked to be hurt and sunk down. "Because he's my friend." I stepped in when I could tell Alonzo was about to lunch himself at the cat. "He's doing better." I stated firmly.
The cat seemed delighted, but his eyes begged to
differ. I really didn't like his cat.

As I watched the activity of the Junk Yard from
the shadows, I thought about 'Problem number 2.' He certainly had an attitude,
and it wasn't in my favor. 'Maybe he should be first, instead of # 1. If I were
to get rid of # 1 then # 2 would surely come after me, where as # 1 wouldn't
point so harshly.' I frowned. I'd have to be more careful this was certainly
becoming more difficult. I watched at # 2 walked off. I
stood, stretched, then waited a bit before following. As I jumped down I picked
up the bag of little pieces of metal and the dead mouse that had more tiny
pieces of metal stuffed in it. I ran ahead of # 2 using the shadows to my
advantage. I got a good 6 yards ahead of him and dropped the rat in an obvious
place. Hiding a hole a bit behind the rat I sat and waited for # 2 to come
around. He did and the rat caught his attention. He sat down and began eating
it. I hurried behind him and waited. Soon # 2 found my little present and began
screaming. I then dropped the jagged pieces of metal on the ground behind him
and ran back to the hole. # 2 stepped back and on the metal. He fell to the
ground rolling around and screaming in pain. I smiled in amusement and silently
left.
