The Paris Express, dated 14 Oct 1957, G. B. Fairbanks, Driggs has in his possession the original deed of Jacob W. Frost of Franklin county now Logan, to 140 acres of land in the Driggs community, southwest of Paris, dated 1 Sep 1860. The 97 year old document, signed by James Buchanan, president of the U. S., was recorded in the land office at Clarksville, AR, because there was no courthouse in Franklin County at that time. G. B. Fairbanks grandfather, Richard Fairbanks, bought the land from Mr. Frost in 1872. G. B. Fairbanks father, Richard Fairbanks Jr., bought out the other heirs in 1903, and G. B. Fairbanks bought out the heirs to the land in 1939. Richard Fairbanks Sr., came here in 1869 from Chattanooga, TN. When he came here there was only one store in Paris, Roseville was the trading center at that time.
