The Paris Express, dated 3 Dec 1931, Henry Ashworth, 29, farmer & miner, died of head injuries of a motor vehicle accident on Hwy 22 at 6:30 p.m. Monday evening. His vehicle stalled on the road without lights. He got out and was pushing the vehicle off the road when he was hit by a car driven by Norman Hames and a passenger, Holly Duffin. Ashworth was thrown from the vehicle & received head injuries. He was confused at the scene, refusing medical attention but was forced to go to the hospital. Hames & Duffin also went to the hospital. Ashworth lost consciousness & died later. Hames & Duffin released from the hospital. He lived at Paris & Charleston all of his life. Survivors: wife, Maude Collier Ashworth, (daughter of J. H. Collier, Charleston) of two years. Daughter, six months old. Mother: Mrs. Sarah Dorris, Camden, AR, & Homer, Paris. Sisters: Mrs. Lester Walker, Vera, Lois Dorris, Camden. Brothers: Clarence Ashworth, Sherman, TX; Herbert Ashworth, Camden, & Homer, Paris. Funeral services at the First Presbyterian Church at Charleston, & burial at Nixson Cemetery.
