Leland Selph was drafted in WWI. He served in France when the Armistice was signed in 1918. He farmed and mined after his return to home. In 1930, Leland was severely injured by a rock fall and died due to spinal injuries in the VA Hospital in Hot Springs, AR.
Elizabeth continued to live in Prairie View being the sole provider of her family. In 1956, she moved to Ft. Smith, AR.
