Gilbert married Mary from Georgia, so he may have moved west via the north GA counties. I can't document his location prior 1838 in Wayne County, TN tax list, then listed on 1860 Hardin County. TN census.

Elbert A. Robbins, the eldest son of Green Dee and Olivia (Shinpouch) Robbins, natives of AL and MS, respectively, dates his existence from December 23, 1857. His father became a resident of AR in 1856, settling in White County, on a farm of 160 acres of land, ten miles south of Rose Bud, where he died in 1865, shortly after returning from the war. His wife survived him nine years, leaving a family of five children:

Elbert Algernon Robbins, farm hand X 3 yrs, age 15, then worked in a sawmill, until April 1881, he bought a sawmill, sold in October 1881. Farmer 1882 farmed. Mercantile business at Rose Bud. January 1883, partnered w/brother, J. W. Robbins. His sister, Molly Holmes mentioned. He was a member of a Missionary Baptist Church in 1887, served in Sunday School.

His six children, three of whom are now living:
