Samuel J. Moore and family came to Polk County, Arkansas from Logan County, Arkansas in 1887. They homesteaded a farm near Standing Rock. Four children were born in Logan Co., and four were born in Polk Co., AR. The old homestead near Standing Rock (Atoka Co., Oklahoma?) is still referred to as the old Moore place. The descendants of Samuel J. Moore have a history of holding reunions in Janssen Park, Mena, Polk Co., AR every June. (From Polk County history book 1986).
Samuel J. Moore moved his homestead for a small amount of money and moved to Oklahoma and back to Logan County, AR then moved to Polk Co., AR on Board Creek to what now belongs to Paula Howell. (Polk County history book 1986.)

Dollie Bell Wells, 85, of DeQueen, formerly of Hatfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in DeQueen. She was a homemaker and member of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church. She was the widow of Richard Wells. Graveside service was at Nunley Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. She is survived by two sons, Darwin and Vernon, both of Hatfield; one daughter, Sadie Wells of Mena; one sister, Irene McGuire of Dallas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
