The Paris Express, dated 18 Jan 1900, “Whereas, Thomas Whittaker & Arkansas A. Whittaker, his wife, by their deed of trust, with power to self, dated June 25th, 1892, recorded in the recorder’s office of Logan County, AR, in Deed of Trust Book “V” at Pages 92-97 inclusive, did convey to J. R. Clark as Trustee, the following described real estate situated in the county of Logan, in the State of AR, to wit: West Half and SE quarter and West half of NE quarter of Section nine and West half and NW quarter of NE quarter of Section ix tec_? And North half of North West quarter of section twenty one, all township eight North, range twenty-five west, and continuing one thousand acres. Column continues about security of payment and clearly described deed. Deed of Trust if Trustee refused to set, the Sheriff of Logan County may, in case of default proceed to advertise and sell real estate. Whereas default has been made in the coupon notes and the 1898 taxes due on said land, and in accordance with the terms of the deed, the legal holder has exercised its option and declared the whole of the debt secured by said deed as immediately due and payable now, and now the sheriff of Logan County in pursuance of the power in me vested by said __ and by the refusal of said J. R. Clarke, Trustee, to act and at the request of the legal holder of said notes, will at the East of the court house in the city of Paris, in the county of Logan, sell real estate to the highest bidder 20 Dec 1899”.

The Paris Express, dated 28 May 1936, “Mrs. Fanny Bansford Cravens McKelvy, wife of H. A. McKelvy, died Friday a.m., at home. She was the daughter of William L., & Nancy Cravens. She was lifelong resident. She joined the Christian Church at a young age and was a devoted member. She was active in Missionary social work. Survivors: Mrs. Pauline Cravens Meredith & children; Sam Ed, Will Rob, Dorothy & Evelyn; Mrs. Nancy Whittaker Brooks & children, Mrs. Cravens Brooks Douglas, Whittaker, Bransford & Bill. Mrs. Katherine Whittaker Deberry & children. Billie Eugene & Thomas Raymond, W. L. Cravens & son, William L. Funeral services were held at home. The Paris Hardware Co. was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers: Bruce Shaw, R. M. Thompson, Bill Pierce, Knoble Deen, Lydell Johns & B. C. Reed. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery”.


The Paris Express, dated 24 Nov 1955, “Bill Cravens & Miss Mary Lou Morris, students at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville were Sunday guests of Mr. Cravens’ parents, Mr. & Mrs. W. L. Cravens”.


The Paris Express, dated 24 Oct 1957, “Mr. & Mrs. Ray Morris & Mr. & Mrs. Bill Cravens of Little Rock visited Sun. with Mr. Cravens’ parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wyatt Cravens, Mr. & Mrs. Bill Cravens left Tues. for Chicago where Mr. Cravens will be employed with the General Electric Company”.
