The Johnson County Weekly, dated 12 Nov 1953, "Coy Lee, Head of Bible Department College of the Ozarks, and minister of Springhill Presbyterian Church". He was a native of Harmony Community, Johnson Co., AR. He attended school in Ozark. He served US Army prior to attending Austin College, Sherman, TX, where he attained a Bachelor's degree. Dubuque Seminary in Dubuque, IA where he received a master's degree of divinity. At University of AR he received a master's in philosophy. At University of the Ozarks n 1965 he received a doctor of divinity degree. He was ordained 27 June 1951 at Harmony Presbyterian Church. He pastored Harmony, Spring Hill, Waggoner, Ft. Gibson, OK churches. He taught at University of the Ozarks. He was director of admissions for Dubuque Theological Seminary and executive presbyter of eastern OK until he retired in 1984. He then taught philosophy and Bible at University of the Ozarks. He has four stepdaughters, five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. (obit The Graphic, July 2009.)


The Graphic, 28 Apr 1999, "Mrs. Alice J. Melton White Lee, 77, of Ozark died Monday, April 26, 1999, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark. She was a native of Chelsea, OK, daughter of the late Charles and Wilhelmena Young Melton, preceded in death by spouse, Ralph W. White, longtime member of the First Christian Church of Fort Smith, and attended the Harmony Presbyterian Church near Clarksville, AR. Survivors include her husband, Coy Lee; four daughters, Rena White Lawrence of Winter Park, Fla., Mary White Hill of Newberry, Fla., Vicki White Muratore of Wichita, Kan., and Ann White Briggs of Clearwater, Fla.; one sister, Mary Florine Crownover of Clinton; and five grandchildren, Lauri Varnadore, Christy Pease, Megan McKinzie, Eric Briggs and Gemma Briggs. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Dr. Stanley Farmer and Rev. Rita Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery at Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark".

He was a retired truck driver, Army veteran of WWII, recipient of the Purple Heart & Bronze Star awards. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Knight Lee & one grandson, Charles Newton Lee. Survivors; Sons; Charles Don & Terry Wayne Lee, Tulsa, OK. Brother; Coy Lee, Ozark, Sister; Avis Bohannon, Tulsa, OK, six grandchildren & one great-grandchild. Burial: Liberty Hill Cemetery, Hunt, AR".
