Notations on John Walter Biggs family



John Walter Biggs was born in Short Mountain Township, Logan Co., AR (old Titsworth community near Paint Rock).

Mr. Biggs taught one term school at Titsworth about 1913-1914. He owned a small grocery store, ran a cotton gin, sawmill, and sorgum mill on the homestead in Titsworth from 1915-1920.

In November 1930, Mr. Biggs moved his family to Palo Verde, AZ but didn't like the climate and returned to Paris, Logan Co., AR on the old farm in 1931. Mr. Biggs worked at Guy Conley's cotton gin in Paris, Logan Co., AR.

The Biggs' children were all born in Titsworth, Logan Co., AR

Clarence and Fay W. Biggs were soldiers in World War II; Clarence 1942-1946 and Fay 1941-1945. Evelyn Biggs Friddle writes a column in the Paris newspaper in Driggs, Arkansas.

After the death of John Walter Biggs, his widow sold the homeplace and moved to Driggs to live near her daughters, Evelyn Friddle and Oma Ezell.

Samuel and Ocie Walker had two daughters.

He was born in Logan County on the 25th of July 1880. He married Laura Ana Bell, on the 1st of Nov. 1900. Daughters: Elba Ostendorf, Paris, Ocie Walker, & Clara Franks, Branch, Franklin Co., AR, Oma Ezell, Driggs, and Evelyn Biggs, of the home. Sons: Clarence, Charleston, Fay and Winaford, both of Paris".

Becker is the son of Mr. & Mrs. F. A. Becker, Paris. The couple will reside in Paris where both are employed”.
