History

part 1

I was born in a small farm in a village called Luovankyla. All of 200 inhabitants were farmers that time and cows were the most

typical domestic animals. The conditions of life were not as hard as during the war but still not easy so it was good to have a

milk from the cows.

My father came to this village about 1944 after 2,5 years of fighting in Karelia and his experiences were really horrible as he

was staying alive while almost all off his friends died.He hasn't even that badly hurt but bomb shell hit his back and he got

bullet in his arm.Afterwards it started the aeroplane's atack and still my father has been lucky to avoid death .

It was a tradition in our family that men build own houses; my father was a carpenter as his father was and probable one was

the master to the other.Otto Viljami build many houses in the area and they looked quite similar to Herman Nestor Hietikko

(Otto's and Oscar's father) houses.

In November 1939 winter war has been started.Maybe it was a reason that my father has visited grandfather's house quite often

from 1940 to late of 1960. What I remember like very first experience after those visits was a round table and the pump in the

corner of the room looking very interesting. It was a small radio there what I noticed at once because we didn't have it at

home.Otto Viljami was a big man sitting in rocking chair as I recall him in my memory. The next experience was a grandfather

funeral and a lot of people around. It was not long time before the Christmas so really short and dark days with no snown at all.

situeted close to our village.. It took two years.Next study place was Factory school in Vaasa, 100 km distance from our farm

and was at lather tool using line. Aditionally I learnt about factory producing big and small electrotransformator ,electric motors,

I went volontary to army PorPRKRhk ballistic shuting company and it took eight monts from my life.During next three years I

was studing at the technological college on the construction department. We traveled to Unkary to celebrate the end off the

study. Next place of study was Pietarsari, 200 km from our farm were I become merconom- means a kind of economis . It took

only one year for technicians .

It was not easy to find a job in Finland that time because of world global oil crisis so I came back to Teuva and got a job there

in caravan factory for eight monts.I decided to continue study so I applyed to Mikkeli technical collage and become an

mechanical engineer after four years of study.Parallely I was study some of electronic technique as a distance learner.

The labour market was very dimanding that time so I had to search for a job far from the place I was born. As I participated at

the course for unemployment people it helped me to find work placemant for about ten years from Jan 2 1982 to Nov 30 1989

at the Wärtsilä Diesel Company. The salary here wasn't good at all but keep me survive.

Remarkable for my life was a study year at the Pedagogical High School in Hämeenlinna - 350 km from our farm.Afterwards I

could work like qualifited teacher so I have done here at the Kokkolan Vocational school for over then 10 years now. I work at

the metalic departmant which include drainlayer, plumper, heating assebler, air assebling. I provide all theoretical subjects as
