Derek Anthony Redmond born September 3, 1965, in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, England) is a retired British athlete. During his career, he held the British record for the 400 metres sprint, and won gold medals in the 4x400 metres relay at the World Championships, European Championships and Commonwealth Games.
Beyond this athletes courage, it took a tremendous WILL to fight through the pain and tears to hop one step at a time towards the finish line.
