Georgetown co-ed: Please pay for us to have sex
We’re going broke buying birth control
February 29, 2012
At a hearing of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee yesterday, a single witness — Georgetown law student and “reproductive rights activist” Sandra Fluke — told sympathetic policy-makers that the administration’s so-called contraception mandate should stand … because her peers are going broke buying birth control.
“Forty percent of the female students at Georgetown Law reported to us that they struggled financially as a result of this policy (Georgetown student insurance not covering contraception),” Fluke reported.
It costs a female student $3,000 to have protected sex over the course of her three-year stint in law school, according to her calculations.
Fluke's testimony was very misleading. Birth control pills can be purchased for as low as $9 per month at a pharmacy near Georgetown's campus. Nine dollars is less than the price of two beers at a Georgetown bar.
For the 2009-2010 school yearat Georgetown, tuition was $43,750 for full-time students and $38,280 for part-time students. Living expenses hover around $20,000 per year, so total costs come out to be around $63,750 per year for full time students and $58,280 per year for part time students.
I think based on the math, a person would have to have sex 23 times a day, seven days a week to spend $3,000 on condoms. How do they find time to study and write papers?
If they can’t afford a $9 pack of birth control pills from Target, how the hell can they afford a law degree?
"I'm literally screwing my way straight into the poorhouse and I can't help it,and the taxpayers should share my burden so I'm willing to whore myself to the Federal government for 28 pills a month"
Bet they all have cell phones.
