Without any prior notice, Hanson made a special surprise appearance at guitarist Bob Weir's (of the Grateful Dead) performance on Friday, Feb. 13. The appearance was made Saturday night at a benefit concert at the Wetlands Preserve, a nightclub in New York City. Issac, Taylor, and Zac sat in with Weir, bassist Rob Wassermann, and drummer Jay Lane for a collection of songs, and an encore including "Watchtower," "Going Down the Road Feeling Bad," "One More Saturday Night, " "GLORIA" and a few others. There were audio and video tapers and photographers all over the club (this was the 10 birthday of the club) so you should catch something in the media - news, mags, papers. They played from about 1 - 2 am in the morning. The performance was filmed and a cybercast is planned for this week. Thursday, February 18, 9:00 PM EST @ http://channels.sonicnet.com. This event was also mentioned on TRL. on TRL (2/17) they showed a clip at the end w/ Taylor and bob weir and stuff from that wetlands concert and they said hanson gave mtv news a quote today and said that they "were happy to work w/ someone of such musical stature" or something...!!

On Hollywood Squares (2/17), Garth Brooks got the question, "What was the youngest group with the youngest member to have a #1 hit?" The answer was "Jackson 5" but Garth said "It has to be my fellow Oklahoma Boys, Hanson." (Garth is also from Oklahoma) Purdy cool...Garth is a Hanson fan! When Hanson first came out they were interviewed in a Country Music Magazine called "Modern Screen's Country Music" and they were asked who is their favorite Country singer and they said "Garth Brooks because his music is awesome and he is also from Oklahoma". So the feeling is mutual...Garth is fans of Hanson and Hanson is fans of Garth. That's purdy cool!

Sometime in February--- Space Ghost: Coast to Coast (Cartoon Network) Hanson will be interviewed by the mighty cartoon host Space Ghost on the Cartoon Network. The date is currently unknown. New episodes of Space Ghost air on Fridays at 11:30pm ET.

There is a POSSIBILITY that Jonny Lang may play the guitar for Hanson's new CD. Maybe, it's not confirmed. All met Jonny's band and one guy said there's a chance. We'll just have to wait and see :)

Mag Apperances (& Book Info & Music Stuff):
Hanson is also mentioned in the People Weekly Almanac. Its a REALLY big book that has a TON of stars in it. Each brother is mentioned at least twice, probably more.
This week's Entertainment Weekly, with Michelle Pfeiffer on the cover, did a little Sundance (which is in Utah and took place on January 24-27) Film Festival coverage. On page 53 it states: "Even two thirds of Hanson appeared at a screening for the postpartum college-blues comedy Chillicothe: 'We knew these guys when we were nobody,' said Isaac Hanson -- the 'guys' being writer-director Todd Edwards and producer Cory Edwards, who live in the teens' hometown of Tulsa.
Hanson is mention in Teen People (one with Alicia Silverstone on cover) twice. Once in the birthdays section..Taylor is mentioned. And again on the Trendspotting page...the city they looked at was Tulsa, OK. They said..."Hanson's not the only hot item out of Tulsa. This heartland city (population 370,000) is afire with fierce fashion statements."
Ravi, Hanson's backup guitarist in 1997 is releasing a book titled Dancin' with Hanson to be released on April 1, 1999. It's suppose to contain never- before-seen behind-the-scenes photos and stories that were taken from Ravi's tour journal. It's approximately 96 pages. There is supposively a new Japanese Hanson CD called "Catch Up 1:January 1998". It's description is: Promo Only Japanese CD Featuring VariousARTISTs With A Christmas Message From The Hanson's.
There is a Hanson pic in the March issue of Elle magazine. Its is a big mag and they are on page 290. It talks about how they always got rejected as just kids by allot of people and now they have been so successful and they have been playing in extremely big crowds lately!! There is a new picture in the middle.

You know all those rumors that Hanson died, Zac's in a coma, etc... Well something like that ALMOST happened- FOR REAL. Ok this is what happened!!! They were on a plane flying from SNL to Washinton DC to tape Christmas in Washinton and they took off and all of a sudden the plane engine died and the plane was gonna go down but luckily was saved!!!!! THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY HANSON!!!!!
Reports have said that Hanson has VW Beetle getting customized with racing stripes (they look like fire)!
Zac played soccer for 3 months (as goalie), while Taylor played soccer for 3 years!
Ike likes to be referee (sp?) cause he can tell the coaches to "chill out."
Zac's fave commerical is the Victoria Secret's Angels commerical (revealed by Taylor in an interview-- and right after Taylor talked about frenching kissing..... hmm....)
