This page is for those small stories that I have gathered from other Chris Simon fans who have had the good fortune of meeting him and/or nearly meeting him. It also contains odd bits of information, which I wasn't exactly sure of where I should place them, but wanted to share. I think they show a small gleam of how Chris is really like with his fans.
- I just heard this last night: One of my good friends went to the Capitals open practice last night. she was unable to get any autographs, but she said that Chris was the only player who came back out of the locker room to hand out hockey sticks. In her words (and I agree), this was "very, very classy" of him.
- In this week's USA Weekend (10/16-18), the Washington Capitals were recognized for their good deeds on Make a Difference Day: "At the October 24 Capitals hockey game, the goal is child safety. The Caps and the Safe Kids Coalition will teach about Halloween safety and sports injury prevention." Might I add that Caps were the only hockey team....no, scratch that...the only team in all of professional sports to be recognized?! Go Caps!
- A friend of mine got his autograph for my mother's birthday. Not only was he very obliging but he signed a birthday card rather than a plain piece of paper.
