Okies, first of all, the VMA's were WAAAAY overhyped. I knew it wasn't gonna be that good and I was right. They all looked great when they came. Howie's hair was kinda weird with the cornrows but you got used to it I guess. What was up with Chris Rock? He's usually hilarious but he wasn't even that funny. Sure there were some good jokes here and there but he took the dissin' WAY too far. But I gotta admit, that shiet bout the BSB was pretty funny. "I wanna know who's gonna be the bad Backstreet Boy. The one that's gonna get Britney Spears pregnant." LMGDAO!!! The look on Brian's face was just priceless! Now that's what I call a Kodak Moment.
Alrite, 1 thing I gots ta say...the boys were robbed!!! Sure they won Viewer's Choice but come on, they deserved more! I'm surprised TLC won best group video. I was sure BSB would take that one. But TLC's cool so iz alrite. But Ricky Martin for best pop video?? WTF??!! BSB are the epitome of pop music. They helped bring pop music back. How could Ricky Martin win?? I mean, yea he's pretty hott but his songs are kinda gay once you've heard them 10000 times (no offense to Ricky fans).
Now the performance. They started off with IWITW and Brian's voice sounded a little shaky. Prolly just nerves tho. Nick sounded about two octaves lower than usual. I heard he was sick the week before and just starting to get well so if that's true, he kicks ass for performing when he's sick. Then they like ripped off their jackets and started sing LTL. A lot of ppl said that they didn't look good in that. I admit, iz different but they still looked ok. But AJ, honey, I love you dearly but what were you thinking when you wore that shirt?? If you wanted to show off your 69 tattoo you might as well have performed without a shirt. Believe me, I don't think NE1 would've minded. But the performance kicked ass (compared to the rest of the show) so he's forgiven. There were too many dancers on the stage. I kept on losing the boys in the crowd. Holy shiets, did ne1 see Brian almost collapse??? I was sooo scared but he just got back up and started dancing again. (For all of those who didn't notice, watch when he and the other guys get up on that little platform thingy at the end). Ok, this wasn't the best BSB performance but it was the best one that night. The performance at the 98 VMA's was better but this one was ok. Considering they only had one day to arrange the dance so it fit the stage and time limit and all that. Dayum, those boys got SKILLZ. They not only danced really well but they also sang live, unlike some other artists *cough*nsyncbritneyspears*cough* CRACKERS WITH ATTITUDE BABY!! (LOL) Sure it wasn't the best but it wasn't sucky. (BTW, that was really funny how Chris Rock introduced Britney and *N Sync "Are you ready for some real lipsyncing??" LMAO)
Ok NEwayz, they didn't hand out Viewer's Choice until like 11:00PM I think. By this time I'm sure you as well as I were pissed BSB hadn't won a thing yet. Well they finally announced BSB won Viewer's Choice and you could tell how happy they were. Iz like "yea! we finally won something!!" Nick fell asleep and hadta be woken up (LOL I don't blame him, VMA's were boring as hell this year). Did you see Brian kiss Leighanne after they won? AWWWWWWW!!!!! How sweet! Honestly, what reason do you have for hating her (if you do)? Save that hate for when/if she breaks up the BSB or something. Best quote: "I'd like to thank my boys for helping me make my dreams come true" ~AJ....how sweet was that? Cutest quote: "I never get to talk so I just wanna say hi to everybody back home"~Nick...awww, poor baby. What the hell was "wake up at 3" supposed to mean? I don't get it at all. Oh and is AJ back with Amanda?? Cuz he was like "I love you baby" and he was w/some brunette girl. I hope they're together again, I thought they were cute together.
Ok now I just need ta vent about the other stuff at the VMA's. First off, video of the year. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Lauryn Hill but why did she win? I wanted BSB to win cuz well, they're my boys. But honestly, KoRn deserved it. That video was sooo cool!! Definitely cooler than any other video out. And how could "Praise You" win anything? That's one of the shittiest video/songs I've ever heard. Breakthrough video my ass. All they did was film a bunch of retarded ppl dancing in a movie theater. How could KoRn not win this???? The world's screwed up I tell ya..
And one last thing before I end this ridiculously long review (sorry bout that). If you were one of the so called fans who totally trashed the BSB's performance, how can you even call yourself a fan? A real fan wouldn't just stop liking the BSB because of one bad performance. Granted, it wasn't the best BSB performance ever but iz not like they have a habit of putting on sucky performances. The guys are experimenting with different looks, seeing what they like best. We should be applauding them for taking chances and not playing it safe. And one thing that just totally pisses me off are fans that just stop being fans because they didn't look "hott" one night. You should be liking them for their music! The looks are just an added bonus, like icing on a cake. Stop being so freaking shallow. And if you didn't like the 99 VMA's that's fine. Just don't go around totally trashing their attempt at doing something new. And this is where I'll end this rant cuz basically, I have nothing left to say. KTPBA 4-EVA!!!
