"Things are not what they seem". An apple which appears to be quite excellent is often rotten at the core. A well dressed person who poses for a gentleman might be a rogue in an electroplated ornament might be considered to be made of genuine gold. Appearance are deceptive indeed. A person, who has concern for us outwardly, may be our enemy in reality. A pedant so often passes for a scholar, an egoist so often mistaken to be a great man. Most worthless drugs and medicines are advertised as penaceas for all ills. There are numerous books, articles of luxury and various odds and ends which are advertised in paper in such exaggerated terms that we cannot help buying them. We buy in haste and repent at leisure. "Truth lies at the bottom of a well". One should not be misled by merely the face value of a thing. In determining the real value of a thing, we should always probe deeper.
