There will be Love

Chrono took one final slash at Lavos. Chrono’s final slash was enough to finish off Lavos.

Lavos let out a high-pitch scream, so loud and high-pitch that everyone covered their ears,

/Is it over?/ Marle thought to herself.

Yes, Lavos didn’t get up or even move.

Everybody sighed a breath of relief. The struggle for the world is finally over, and everyone could finally live a normal life.

Chrono put his sword back in his scabbard and didn’t say a word to Marle or anyone for that matter. Chrono simply stood there, almost in disbelief of Lavos’s death. Everyone was silent.

Just then, Marle joyfully ran towards Chrono. Marle tapped Chrono on his shoulder and when Chrono turned around, Marle wrapped her arms around him, and gave him a kiss on the lips. Chrono cupped his hands on her cheeks and passionately kissed her back.

Magus was full of disgust, so he decided to leave them alone. After all, Magus doesn’t like love and stuff, he likes death and destruction. That’s how he was raised, that’s how he lived his life and nothing will change that.

/Why did I summon Lavos in the first place?/ Magus thought to himself, in disgust towards himself.

After awhile, Chrono and Marle went back to the Epoch. To their surprise, everyone was there waiting for them.

Chrono politely opened the door for Marle and he let Marle go in first. Chrono got in the Epoch next.

Frog was in the drivers seat.

/Why don’t we go back to 1000 a.d.?/ Marle suggested anxiously.

/Okay/ Frog replied, flicking the ON switch, setting the time meter to 1000 a.d.

The Epoch travelled through time at an incredible speed. Before they knew it, they were hovering above Chrono’s house.

It was getting dark and there seemed to be something going on at Times Square. Frog landed the Epoch beside Chrono’s house. Chrono, Marle and Lucca quickly jumped out of the Epoch. Chrono and Marle went to Chrono’s house and Lucca went to see her mother and father at her own house. She missed them a lot during her long adventure with Chrono and the rest of her new friends.

Chrono and Marle were greeted by Chrono’s cat, then Chrono’s mother walked over to Chrono and gave him a "Welcome back, I missed you hug."

/Mom!/ Chrono said in FULL embarrassment.

Chrono’s mother let go of him and suggested that he take Marle to the Moonlight Parade, that’s going on in Times Square. Chrono wasn’t going to go, but he looked at Marle, just to see her beautiful blue eyes, staring at him, almost as if to say, /Come on Chrono, please!/

Chrono couldn’t refuse when Marle looked at him in that way… there’s just something about her that makes him to whatever she wants to do. He’s felt that way ever since they first met.

Chrono took Marle to the Moonlight Parade. The whole place was decorated like never before, there was music and balloons were everywhere they looked.

/Oh Chrono!/ Marle exclaimed in joy, hugging Chrono and kissing him on his right cheek.

Chrono took Marle to play games, get cotton candy and watch the fireworks.

The fireworks were a beautiful spectacle, but in Chrono’s eyes, not nearly as beautiful as Marle on this night , or every night.

Chrono knew it was time, time to tell Marle how he feels about her. Chrono loves Marle, more than anything else in the world. And for once, he knew exactly what he wanted, Marle as his wife.

/Marle, I have something to tell you…/ Chrono started, after clearing his throat. Nervousness suddenly struck Chrono, big time.

/Anything Chrono./ Marle replied, not having any clue what Chrono wanted to tell her.

/Marle, ever since I met…/ Chrono continued, but this time, he was interrupted by fireworks.

Marle got up from where they were sitting and energetically exclaimed /Chrono. Look at that!/

Chrono didn’t really want to look, after all, those exact fireworks just ruined his confession to the only girl he ever loved. /Anyways Marle…/ Chrono started again, but this time, he was interrupted by Lucca.

/Not here, not now/ Chrono thought to himself.

/Hey you two! Follow me… I have something to show you!/ Lucca exclaimed, practically dragging Chrono and Marle to the Telepod area.

The Telepod, where it all started. Chrono remembered perfectly, Marle, the pendent, what he went through to get her back, all he knew was that he didn’t want to do it again.

But to Chrono and Marle’s surprise, the whole group was waiting for them by the Telepod. Ayla, Frog, Robo and even Magus, who was hovering in the corner with his head in his cape, like he likes to do frequently.

/ We decided to leave the Epoch with you Chrono/ Robo said to Chrono.

/We take magic bird back to our own times!/ Ayla said in her prehistoric, primitive way.

/You’re ALL going?/ Marle asked everybody. Marle didn’t want them to go, she wanted to be around ALL her friends, even Magus, who doesn’t actually like her back. But then again, she knew it couldn’t be… everyone’s from different times.

/Yes/ Magus replied cheerfully, for the first time in his life. /It’s about time too…/ Magus said aloud.

Frog couldn’t hold in his frustration and anger towards Magus in any longer. /Thou art such a pain in the…/ Frog exclaimed, but was interrupted by Lucca.

/Watch your tongue, uh, language Frog!/ Lucca demanded, although she felt the same way towards Magus.

/Let’s hurry and get out of this damn time!/ Magus complained.

/Yeah, okay/ Lucca replied. Lucca walked over to the Telepod and pulled the switch, and set the Time to the middle ages.

A "gate" opened between the Telepods.

That was when Marle got emotional. Marle tried to hold it in, but small tears ran down her face.

Magus was the first to go. Magus walked over to the "gate" silently, and walked in without saying a word.

/Bye Magus!/ Marle exclaimed, not really expecting a reply.

She didn’t get one either…

Next, was Frog. Frog walked over to the "gate" and walked in.

/Bye Glenn!/ Marle exclaimed, /Hope you become human again!/

/Farewell Marle, Chrono, Ayla, Robo, Lucca, I’ll miss thee!/ Frog replied, starting to get emotional, before he disappeared.

Lucca set the Telepod to the future.

Robo knew it was his time to go. Robo walked over to the "gate" and Lucca exclaimed /Bye Robo!/

Now Lucca was getting emotional, after all, she was the one who re-programmed him. She’ll never forget Robo, and she hoped Robo would never forget her.

/Bye everybody!/ Robo replied.

Robo walked through the "gate" and disappeared.

The last person was Ayla.

Lucca set the time meter to prehistoric time.

Ayla walked towards the "gate", but she stopped, turned around and looked at Chrono and said, /Chrono, you come see me and we’ll have more soup!/

Chrono couldn’t help but laugh, /Okay/ Chrono replied, laughing to himself.

Ayla walked through the "gate" and disappeared.

Marle suddenly burst out crying. She fell to her knees in grief and put her face in her open hands and kept crying.

Chrono walked over to Marle to comfort her.

Chrono put his arms around Marle, and Marle managed to whisper to Chrono, /We’ll never see them again!/

/Yes we will… and besides, we still have each other…/ Chrono said, trying to make her feel better.

/What?/ Marle asked, suddenly looking up at Chrono.

Chrono wiped some of the tears off of Marles’ face, and replied, /Marle, I’ve been wanting to tell you ever since we got back from slaying Lavos… I love you!/

Marle couldn’t believe it, she felt the same way, but up until now, she didn’t know if Chrono felt the same way.

/I want to live with you, have a family with you to love and share!/ Chrono continued.

/Me too!/ Marle exclaimed, jumping up and wrapping her arms around Chrono’s neck tightly, but lovingly.

/I think I’ll go/ Lucca said, turning off the Telepod completely, then walking away from Chrono and Marle, to her house.

By this time, Chrono had his arms around Marle also.

They stood there, I each others arms, and Marle had her head against Chrono also, they didn’t move, love’s in the air

Next Day…

/Chrono, Chrono, wake up Chrono! I know you were out late last night but you have to get up. Marle’s here and she doesn’t look too good! CHRONO!!!/ Chrono’s mother exclaimed, nudging Chrono, all in an attempt to wake him up.

Chrono’s mother went downstairs and to the kitchen, to start making breakfast.

Chrono got up a few minutes later. Chrono went downstairs to see the love of his life, Marle, standing there worried.

/Marle, what’s wrong?/ Chrono sincerely asked.

/Daddy wants to see you!/ Marle replied.

/Okay, calm down…/ Chrono said calmly. Besides, it was too early to really give a damn about anything.

Marle and Chrono went to Guardia Castle. Once they arrived, they were stopped by two guards.

/Sorry princess, you can’t enter the throne room, this is between your father and Chrono! Sorry Princess Nadia…/

/I’ll bet…/ Marle replied sarcastically. Then Marle leaned over to Chrono and whispered in his ear, /Don’t worry, I’ll be listening!/

Chrono walked into the castle then straight to the Throne Room, not aware of what’s going to happen. He opened the doors to the Throne Room and saw King Guardia, sitting on his throne, staring at Chrono.

Chrono proceeded to walk into the Throne Room.

/Chrono, you are here because of the obduction of my daughter, Princess Nadia. Then you dragged her off into dangerous areas and did god-knows-what with her!/ King Guardia exclaimed.

Just then, Marle ran into the room, she couldn’t take anymore, her father was telling lies to her lover that Chrono and herself both knew wasn’t true. It was completely the opposite, Chrono SAVED her. If only her father knew what REALLY happened.

/But daddy!/ Marle exclaimed.

/No buts…/ King Guardia replied unemotionally.

/But you don’t know what really happened, we were off…/ Marle exclaimed, but the look on her father’s face made her stop.

King Guardia paused.

/Saving the world right?/ King Guardia all of a sudden said cheerfully.

Marle was in a tizzy, and so was Chrono./What?/ Marle finally managed to ask, after a few moments of silence.

Lucca, Robo, Frog and Ayla walked down the stairs that led to Marle’s bedroom.

/They told me EVERYTHING…/ King Guardia replied, pointing at Lucca, Robo, Ayla, and Frog. /That half-naked woman (Ayla) kept trying to convince me to try her soup, but I don’t know why! You’ve got nice friends, don’t ever forget them!/

Marle and Chrono looked at each other.

/And Chrono, you seem like a nice lad, take care of my daughter…/ King Guardia demanded.

That reminded Chrono of the ring he made from a small piece of the Rainbow Shell for some reason. Chrono found a ring with no diamond lying on the ground one day, so he snuck a small piece of the Rainbow Shell and put it where the diamond was supposed to be. At the time, Chrono was just expressing his creativity.

/Marle/ Chrono said. /I don’t know if this is the right time, but would you give me the honor…/ Chrono got down on one knee, /Of being my wife?/

Marle paused for a moment. She was overwhelmed, but happy. /Finally, he asked me!/ Marle thought to herself. Marle replied a few seconds later anxiously, /Of course I’ll marry you!/

Marle and Chrono hugged then during the hug, Chrono gave Marle a short, but meaningful, kiss on the lips.

A Few Weeks Later

After all the planning, the day was finally here.

Chrono was dressed in a black tuxedo, waiting by the altar for his fiance.

The wedding music sounded, and everybody looked at the isle, to see Marle dressed in a white dress, looking more beautiful then she ever has in Chrono’s eyes. But it doesn’t matter what Marle looks like, Chrono would still love her.

Marle walked down the isle slowly, looking at Chrono the whole time.

Chrono was looking back at her.

Frog, Ayla, Lucca and Robo all sat in the front row.

Once Marle was finished walking down the isle, her and Chrono exchanged looks one more time, then the minister took over.

/We are gathered here today to join Marle and Chrono in holy matrimony./ The minister looked at Chrono. /Do you Chrono, take Marle to be your wife, to hold and cherish, through good and bad?/

/I do/ Chrono replied joyfully. This was truly the happiest day of his life.

The minister looked at Marle. / Do you Marle, take Chrono to be your husband, to hold and cherish, through good and bad?/

/I do/ Marle replied joyfully. /I’ve been waiting for this day…/ Marle thought to herself.

/With the power invested in me by King Guardia, I now pronounce you husband and wife!/ The minister announced.

Chrono took the ring and placed it on Marle’s finger.

/You may kiss the bride!/ The minister announced.

Chrono and Marle leaned forward, lips inching closer and closer until, finally, their lips touched.

Marle wrapped her arms around Chrono’s hips, and she felt something on his right hip.

Marle stopped kissing Chrono. Marle asked Chrono in confusion, /Chrono, is that your sword?/

/Uh, yeah, I’ve had the sword so long, I’ve become sorta attached to it…/ Chrono replied.

/Well, I never…/ Marle said, offended because this was their wedding, Chrono shouldn’t have his sword.

/Marle, what’s that crossbow doing strapped to your back?/ Chrono asked.

Marle’s face became scarlet red. She couldn’t think of a good excuse. The reason she had it was the same reason that Chrono had his sword. /Well, a girl can never be too careful!/ Marle finally replied.

/THIS IS A WEDDING! What’s going to happen at a wedding?/ Chrono asked.

Marle couldn’t think of an answer, so she decided just to forget about Chrono’s sword.

So now the happy couple is married, what do they have planned to do with their lives? Where will they live? But what is Magus doing right now? Just wait and see…

Lucca sent everybody back to their times again, and then, in tears again, she went back to her house. She didn’t want to bother Chrono and Marle on their first night of being married.

A week later, with the happy couple…

They’ve only been together for a week, but it was the happiest week of their lives. Chrono got a job, they live in a nice, new house and they have a pet cat.

/Chrono, Chrono, wake up Chrono, or you’ll be late for work!/ Marle yelled, shaking Chrono.

Just like in Chrono’s dreams. Him living with Marle, waking up to her sweet voice…

/Chrono, Chrono, GET UP!/ Marle still yelled.

Okay, not her sweet voice.

And best of all. Chrono knew that Marle violent.

Marle still shook Chrono…

Scratch that sentence too…

But none the less, Chrono got out of bed, walked downstairs, and he saw Lucca sitting at the table drinking coffee.

/You still have a few hours before you have to go to work/ Marle told Chrono.

Then I’m going back to bed…/ Chrono said walking back upstairs.

/I swear Chrono, you’ve got to be one of the laziest people in the world! Come down and see Lucca!/ Marle yelled upstairs.

Chrono stumbled back downstairs, not fully awake yet. Chrono got himself some coffee and sat down beside Lucca. Marle got some coffee and sat down at the table also.

/So Chrono, what do you do these days?/ Lucca asked Chrono.

/I’m a repairman…/ Chrono replied, still not fully awake, but trying to wake himself up.

But not everyone was so happy…

Frog and Magus stood in battle position, staring at each other hatefully, not saying a word.

Frog’s sword against Magus’s scythe…

The fight of the middle ages…

Frog attacked first, but Magus countered with "Dark Bomb". The force of "Dark Bomb" knocked Frog down, but Frog was relentless, Frog got back up and attacked again.

Once again, Magus countered with "Dark Bomb" but this time, Frog dodged it.

Frog viciously slashed at Magus and Magus blocked the attacks with his scythe.

/Stupid frog!/ Magus yelled furiously in the heat of the battle.

But that was a mistake. Magus let his guard down and Frog took advantage of it. Frog saw an opening and attacked.

With one final yell, Frog stuck his sword straight through Magus’s heart. Frog kept the sword in Magus, while Magus coughed and spat out blood.

After a few seconds of feeling triumphant, Frog pulled the sword out of Magus.

Without saying a word, Magus collapsed and was now a corpse covered in BLOOD.

After Magus’s death, Frog felt a weird feeling go through him. Frog started transforming… first he lost his webbed feet, grew a little taller, and took the color and form of a HUMAN, once again, he could be called Glenn.

/Cyrus, I did it, Magus is slain… I hope thou art happy with me…/ Glenn thought to himself, then he went to Guardia Castle, in his time, to see the king and queen.

In the future, Robo found a new girlfriend who had almost the same serial code, RY-66. But her name was Synthiatheus. Robo is happy but has not forgot Lucca…

Back in prehistoric time, Ayla was busy bossing people around and having parties whenever there was a reason. And she kept making soup, until Chrono came, but what she didn’t know was, Chrono might not be coming…

In Chrono and Marle’s house…

Chrono finally started getting ready for work, he hates his job and he hates his boss because his boss in a stuck up *asshole. Chrono went upstairs to get a pair of socks from his drawer, but then heard a familiar scream.

A high-pitch scream…

NOW he recognised it!

Chrono took his sword out of his closet and ran downstairs.

Marle and Lucca didn’t recognise the scream, and Chrono wishes he could forget about it too, but he knew what he had to do…

Chrono quickly ran to the door and opened the door. But before he could get out, Marle stopped him and asked /Chrono, where are you going with that sword? I hope you aren’t going to work, because you can’t hate your boss that much!/

/No… maybe you should call him and tell him I won’t be going to work!/ Chrono exclaimed.

/Why?/ Marle asked, confused. Marle nor Lucca had any comprehension of what’s going on.

/Because I have something more important to fix!/ Chrono yelled.

Then Chrono ran out of the house and stood on the doorstep. Chrono shut the door behind him, because he knew this was going to get UGLY, and he didn’t want Lucca or Marle to see it because they’d want to help, and Chrono doesn’t want Lucca, let alone his own wife, Marle, to get hurt again, for the same reason.

Chrono drew his sword from his scabbard, looked up in the air, and said to himself /Okay you S.O.B. you’re not going to cause anymore damage!/

Right in front of him, not too far away, only in front of Guardia Forest stood a familiar sight, staring at Chrono, almost as if it were waiting for Chrono to come out and face it.

Maybe a little revenge…

IT WAS LAVOS!!!

Chrono wasted no time… he ran towards Lavos, sword in hand…
