Here is another article about stereotyping written by a fellow skater named Josh.

Here is a topic few people ever dare to venture into. Why are society today contradicts itself. We as people, all human, all carbon based life forms, say we should be different. We all do stuff that sets us apart from each other. I’m not talking about the illegal stuff here. I’m talking about changing our hair color, getting a body piercing, tattoos, wearing baggy pants, shirts with logos no one knows on them, skateboarding, biking, rollerblading, listening to music that not everyone listens to. But when we do anything that the majority of the population does not do then we get stereotyped. For doing what they said we should do and being an individual, we get ridiculed! I’m sick of being stereotyped by the people for just doing what the people told me to do! People stereotype because they are afraid of what they don’t know. I know a diverse group of people and the reason I like them is for not following a crowd, not changing their style to fit in with the so-called “clique”. The question is why change to fit in? If your friends don’t like you for who you are, then they aren’t really your friends! Your friends should like you for who you are and not what you look like! What I think is, you should do what you like and have fewer friends then do what you hate to have more friends. Some people go all out to try to impress people that are really, in fact, using them! It’s asinine to make a fool of yourself to try to impress someone else. Fuck the system, do what you like to do! Please e-mail any comments on this matter!

REMEMBER TO KEEP IT REAL!
