Kaufman And Clifton
By putting on a wig, some dark shades, a mustache and a cheap suit, Andy transformed himself into a rude and obnoxious character named Tony Clifton.
Clifton was a mouthy, cigarette smoking lounge lizard, with a bad attitude and a very short temper. He was famous for harassing the audience members and making them feel uncomfortable. Very often he would dump glasses of water over their heads.
With all of that make-up, it took a long time for fans to realize that Clifton and Kaufman were actually the same person. To make it even more difficult, Andy started having his friend Bob Zmuda dress up like Tony Clifton. People never knew the difference.
