2) If I like the mp3, I'll prolly buy the disk, and so will most who
can afford to, so, I doubt that anyone is losing money when you balance
the stealing factor with the advertisement factor. In fact, since the
stealing factor actually costs nobody in damages, it's a win win
situation
3) Regardless, I think it is petty of these $$$$$ artists to worry
about it.

Who wants to shut down Napster, the artists, or the record companies? Well, we need to blame it on most artists for puttin out weak shit! How many times have I heard a song on the radio I liked, went to the store to buy the single, only to have 6 different versions of that ONE song on the disc. So I wonder how good the rest of the songs are, and I give them the benefit of the doubt that this song is good so why don't I buy the whole album it should be good-- BIG MISTAKE, cause the rest of the album sucked! Its happened to me too many times, buying an album only to have 2 to 3 good songs on it. Napster helps out the hard working individuals who don't want to waste their money buying a whole shitty CD and just get the single. It gives me a chance to preview the music before I buy. Besides its no different from a friend buying a CD/cassette and making a copy for me, and his friend, and his friends friend! I mean what's next, going after the blank tape/disc companies? Aren't they saying "hey go record stuff" by selling blank media? How about the Companies that include "record" buttons on their equipment? Shouldn't they be to blame too? There's always gotta be some CRYBABY somewhere that always tries to fuck up a good thing! That's my word and if they don't like it, they can SUCK IT!
John:
Fans will always support their bands !!! no matter how much they can get for free. Some people can't afford the music they love, are they less important than big money fans?. Why are big artists such ass's about people stealing there music if you ask people they say that letting people steal there music is good for Advertising.

Yo man, i just wanna say that these "poor" artists needs to get some confidents that they have REAL fans and ROYAL fans who will cop their album no matter if they had the album downloaded or not. If they don't believe in their fans, then they should get the fuck outta the music industry. It's not like they're not selling records, Dre and Metallica's ass are all Platinum selling artists, why the hell they gotta care about some kids downloading few of their songs...? To me, Napster is a great way of distributing unreleased music and also it gives underground and unsigned artists great exposure. peace
