Here are the

OLD

Spitfire Headers

This is the old collector design minus the collector ring.

Header mounted on a 340 with J heads. With exhaust studs still in the heads the end holes had to be enlarged slightly. The fit is a little too precise (if there is such a thing).

Clearance to the tranny and the torsion bar. The header is about 3/4 to 7/8s" off the top of the t-bar.

Brake line distribution block (My car may differ from others).

Starter clearance.

Steering box and starter clearance. This is a late model high torque starter so the original starters clearance may differ (It's worth it to go and buy a new starter though if you need to).

What most people will see.

This is the inside bolt of #1 cylinder. I had to bang a little more clearance here but not much. I also ground a standard 7/16" header bolts head down to 1/2 of its size.

With the collector installed. I will take another pic of the collector straight on.

A better shot of the collector and ring.

Tighter shot of #1 clearance.
