The Seishi-Ryu Oki-Kobudo weapons art was founded by Kyoshi Tyrone Wiggins,Sr. while he was steadying Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo League Kenburyu on Okinawa with Hanshi Seijiro Maehara in Nago City Aja Henoko. And there were times when Seijiro Maehara would take Wiggins-san to Gushikawa City and train with Hanshi Seikichi Odo in his dojo at 272 Agena, because they were like brothers and senior students under the late great Shigeru Nakamura. Wiggins-san even had the privilege of training at the Kodokan with Hanshi Shinpo Matayoshi students because Matayoshi taught Odo a number of weapon forms that are in Okinawa Kenpo today. Wiggins-san even trained with students of Eisuke Akamine, Yamanni ryu, Fusei Kise and his students, Toma Sensei students, and many others for two years on Okinawa. After learning and steadying with various teachers on Okinawa, Wiggins-san started taking techniques from the kobudo katas he learned, keeping them pure from change while developing his own Oki-Kobudo system. We are the only ones that uses the Oki-Kobudo term as our weapons system.

The Oki-Kobudo headquarters is in Philadelphia under the 1st President, Founder and Chief Instructor, Kyoshi Tyrone Wiggins, Sr. All Oki-Kobudo testing takes place at our Delaware dojo under the U.S. Oki-Kobudo Director, Sensei Quinton Massey, appointed by Kyoshi Tyrone Wiggins, Sr. We pride ourselves on loyalty, honor, respect and integrity. My son Renshi Tyrone Wiggins, II is my heir and future 2nd President of the SKKF/Oki-Kobudo.
