NAV BAR [Up] [sign guestbook] [view guestbook] [E-mail] |
With the metal barrel supplied from Airsplat. Also included was a plastic orange barel that was in place for sales and transport.
Pros:
Nice power
Nice kick
Green gas compliant
Adjustable rear sight
Fuctional decocker
Easy field stripping process
Cons:
Serious inner barrel wobble due to the USP slide and barrel mechanics. To receed during slide cycle, the outer barrel shifts down, while the stationary innerbarrl and base sits loosly inside the outerbarrel. The result is innerbarrel muzzle shifting during discharge. Hince, poor accuracy.
Tape applied to inner barrel end to serve as cushion against movement. The draw back is the slide cycle is noticably slugish. But accuracy is improved.
Outer barrel sesign sometimes conflicts with the slide's ejection port area. Slight filing to round off the election port edge might be necessary for proper cycling. Metal slide and outerbarrel combo may not function at all until this issue is addressed.
Hit or miss KJW quality control issues.
Misc:
The included metal replacement outer barrels, from Airsplat, was finished with an overabundance of powdercoat. It did not accept the 14mm- muzzle break well. The existing threads needed to be chased with a die in order to screw correctly.
No trademarks.
The magazine has a lock that release gas during filling if it is not toggled. I forget sometimes. The inexperienced oftern complain of normal leakage due to this lock.
Rumer is also common that USP mags are prone to leackage beyond the aforementioned, normal, mechanical failsafe.
Mine also arrived to me missing the hop up adjustment screw. Nothing serious, but annoying.
