Artist in Residence: Dana Woolery |
Dana's "Lion" fascinates me. I don't really think that she meant to paint a lion, necessarily, but she did. Not only is it a lion: it is a bold, powerful lion caught in mid-bound as it leaps across the paper. Amazing.
I love these blue flowers. I showed Dana how to "blot" with the brush, and these were the result.
This is one of those paintings that leaves the story up to the viewer. What is it? I can see several images, here.
These next two pictures are like the last one: the viewer's imagination creates the story.
So, what do you see? This one reminds me of some of Degas' work.
