Delivery to AVSim Base

OK sorry for the delay, everyone. Bad weather here at home had me grounded first in BFUn then Juneau. After making the trip up to Juneau in a Super Courier, I had decided that I never wanted to fly one of those again because they're uncontrollable when going slow. In Juneau, I met another BFU pilot who offered to swap his Twin Otter for my Super Courier because he needed a plane with better STOL capabilities. I agreed, because if I took the Twin Otter, I could get just about everything left in Juneau for the AVSim Base. We agreed to meet again at BFUn to give him back his Twin Otter. However, it wasn't until yesterday when I had enough good weather time at home to make this flight, "and you know I'm ready to gooooooo..." Oops, sorry, that song was on the radio. So anyways, I'm going, I'm going, I'm off, with as much load as this thing could stand, which left the storage room pretty much empty.

The weather wasn't too bad, there was no wind at all (that's rare), but there were some low-hanging clouds that got in my way more towards the end of the flight. After taking off, I flew over Juneau Harbor and got a good look at that.

I looked at the map and decided that I would just follow the water to AVSim. This would help me get a feel for the Twin Otter as well as help keep boredom from creeping in. Here, I'm just cruising somewhere past Juneau Harbor

After a little more than a half hour, I was within 10 miles of AVSim. But I couldn't see it because of the mountains. I cut through a small inlet and then barely made it over the mountain.

It turned out I was lined up almost perfectly for the paved runway, so I decided to land on that, since this was my first time landing a Twin Otter. I touched down rather late, and it wasn't until the end of the runway that I got the thing good and stopped.

I turned off the runway, parked, and shut down the Otter. Several people came an unloaded the plane, and I told them that there was only about one delivery's worth of supplies left in Juneau. And, yes, I got Francois' coffee, so now he has a use for the machine in his office.
