Hunters to Telegraph Creek

OK I have finished this flight. On account of a problem I had with my screenshot program, I couldn't get good screens of the flight. I did get one, though, just to show how thin the runway at Telegraph Creek is. It took me exactly 2 hours to fly, and went fairly well, other than a botched up landing. Throughout it, there were high, scattered clouds, so it was an easy VFR flight.

I met the passengers at the terminal at noon. They were Jack and Tom, and were going to Telegraph Creek to go hunting in the surrounding area. Since there were only 2 of them, and only 100 lbs of gear, everything was loaded in 5 minutes. I set the ADF frequency to 529 (Sumner Strait), and taxied over to runway 11. I took off at 12:09, climbed to 2000, and turned towards the north and headed off towards the Sumner Strait NDB.

When I reached it, I turned towards Wrangell, the last NAVAID I would have other than a chart. I made it over there with no trouble, and began the visual part. I turned left to go up Stikine River, which I followed all the way up to Telegraph Creek. It took me around an hour to get up there from Wrangell, and when I got there, I was surprised at the runway. Sure, it was long enough, but the width! It was smaller than the wingspan on the Beaver!

As soon as I saw how thin it was, I decided I wasn't going to try and line up perfectly with the runway, especially since there was enough flat land to put it down on anyway. I began a steep descent, and then came about 2 feet to the right of the runway, where I set it down. If I didn't have passengers on board, I would have made more of an attempt to make the runway. Afterwards, I taxied over onto the runway to get the picture attached below. After that, I turned off the runway and shut it down.

I let out Jack and Tom, and wished them luck on their hunting trip. I stayed in the plane, since we were out in the middle of noplace, and relaxed and ate some of the food I had brought along with me. Soon I will fly out of here, since there is no point in staying. I will post a job for someone take these men back tomorrow, since I have other flights to make today, and can't stay.

Check out the pic below to see how small the runway was.
