ACTIVITIES
· Physical Education (PE) – We’ll meet monthly as a group at a predetermined location and allow the children to exercise and play together. A variety of fitness activities and workout sessions will be available to all who participate. Additionally, conditioning exercises will target events of the Presidential Physical Fitness Program. Future PE sessions include skating, swimming, and bowling.
· World Geography Co-Op – Every second Tuesday of each month, you have the opportunity to participate and learn about different countries throughout the world. We have fun studying the people, customs, art, literature, and food of the theme country. Each child gets a chance to tell the group about the topic they chose to learn about. Families choose and bring an authentic dish from the subject country for all to sample and enjoy.
· Field Trips – A variety of fun and exciting trips are planned for each month. Most destinations are within in the local Antelope Valley. Recent field trips include Lancaster Performing Arts plays, Edwards AFB NASA Tour, and the Feline Preservation Compound in Rosamond. Plans for future trips include the Calico Ghost Town, Twenty-Horse Mule Team Tour, Military Working Dog demonstration, Tehachapi Ostrich Farm, Whale Watching, and many more to come! Look here for more things to do in our community.
· Adopt-a-Lot Program – Every first Friday of each month, our group participates in a volunteer effort to clean up a designated area on the base. This is an excellent opportunity to help the local animal habitat while improving the environment. The group will present a Community Service Certificate to those who provide at least 8 hours of Adopt-a-Lot assistance.
