Virgo the Virgin. Virgo is an Earth sign with Mutable qualities. It is the ruler of the practical 6th house and its ruling planet is Mercury.

Being an Earth sign Virgo is practical, conventional and responsible. Whilst its Mutable qualities show it to be versatile, retiring and submissive. The sixth house is that of service to others, colleagues and health.

This sign will work hard to please others. It is analytical and methodical in its approach, however such attention to detail can sometimes impede success. The Virgo is discriminating and modest, but being too choosy can cause difficulties forming relationships, whilst being too modest can mean that their work rarely gets the recognition it deserves.

Although being analytical and critical are positive traits, this can go too far, resulting in the Virgo being fussy, worrying over minor faults. Though the Virgo is often critical of others, they are usually far more critical of themselves, this tends to produce a lack of self worth.
