My Most Favorite Place on Earth

This is my friend's private lake. It's part of the Chain Lakes in Elk, Washington. Above is the main part of the lake where one area is over 300 ft. deep. My son has caught about every kind of wild species fish you could name in it. He often spear fishes with scuba gear, and has seen some pretty strange ones in the deeper parts.

Too bad I didn't turn the camera a little more to the right, or you'd be able to see how far the lake stretches. The land around it is approximately 130 acres of unspoiled wild. About every kind of animal has been seen there (native species that is).

This is at the other end of the land where after about a half mile of stream that runs from the lake, it comes down a slight drop to form these falls. On the other side of the rapids pictured here, hidden by the trees, there is a natural jacuzzi, which accommodates 2 people nicely. It's padded with about 3 inches of thick soft moss on the rocks as you sit comfortably in the natural whirlpool. It's amazing.

This is the end of the flume as Ron, the owner, calls it. I helped build the small dam pictured here, it contains the swimming hole (pictured above). This is a crossing as well. It takes you across the stream to a road which then takes you up to the back side of his land. You go to the top of some small mountains and look down on the entire lake, stream, pond, falls, and flume.

It's Early spring in this one.
