The crankcase breather line most commonly used to run from the crankcase vent to a crankcase vent filter is 3/8" inside diameter. Go to the auto parts store and find some vacuum adapters that accept 3/8" on one end and 3/4" on the other. Buy 2 of these adapters and a short piece of the 3/4" hose.
(Note: As we are working with hot, fairly high-pressure oil, I would recommend using high-temperature, high-pressure hose. RW)
Cut the crankcase breather line about halfway up and put in one of the adaptors; roll up a Scotchbrite pad and insert it into the short piece of 3/4" hose. Put in the other adapter and plug into the remaining crankcase breather line. Make sure the breather is mounted as high as possible. What you've done is put in a prefilter in an expansion chamber that will break down some of the oil mist on its way up. The airflow will be unaffected.
