    The Quintara drones are the penultimate form of what the Transformers would have been if the Transformers had remained under Quintesson control instead of rebelling and had been developed for four million years further.  The XLS 38880 is the current model in a long line of military hardware developed by the Quintara, although they are perpetually refining their creations, seeking the ultimate combat format.
     The XLS 38880 is a triple changer drone that answers to the Quintara hierarchy exclusively although each unit is capable of basic reasoning and deduction abilities and is more then capable of fighting self sufficiently without direct control by it's masters. The drones have been designed in such a way, however, to prevent them from desiring freedom--each unit understands that it must serve the Quintara Technocracy to the best of it's ability and that failure to do so is only excusable by death.
     Each drone possesses dual particle weapons in all of it's varying modes, as well as multi-functional missiles capable of piercing a wide variety of materials and surfaces. Each unit possesses thermal sensors as well as other sophisticated sensor systems. The drones are capable of both space and atmospheric travel in their fighter modes, although their exact speed limitations are presently unknown.
