100 of the Greatest Guitarists of All time

Angus & Malcolm Young

"We've been accused of making the same album over and over 12 times. But its a dirty lie. The truth is we've made the same album over and over 14 times!"
-Angus Young

Dressed like a school boy, AC/DC's spastic lead guitarist Angus Young is hard rock's most exciting and entertaining showman. But when it comes to his guiar playing, the wee Scotish Aussie is one class clown that never fools around. His spotlight stealing spasms only serve as rocket fuel for his God given abilties to solo with the best of them.
But while Angus was born to rock the house, his stotic brother Malcolm is content to stand in the shadows and lay down the bands unshakeable foundations with his pulverizing rhythm guitar. Malcolms mighty crunch, coaxed from a battered '63 Gretsch Jet Firebird, is, in fact, AC/DC's great secret weapon. the standard against which all the power chords are measured.
Although they have done great work before and since, the brothers Young will prehaps always be best know for 1980's Back in Black, an all purpose primer for riff writting and tight, blues based lead playing.
