When they realized that the Triceratops Dino Zord along with the other Dino Zords were not adequate to protect the planet Earth from Lord Zedd and his forces, Zordon upgraded the Dino Zords with the power of thunder. So they transformed the Triceratops Zord into the Unicorn Thunder Zord. This Zord could propel nearby heavy objects through the air enabling it to perform solo combat in an emergency. The Unicorn Thunder Zord formed the right leg while fo the Thunder MegaZord. The Unicorn Zord was destroyed with the other Thunder Zords by Rito Revolto.
