Zordon is the mentor to the power rangers and seems to know everything there is to know about Rita, Zedd and their monsters. He says that he was trapped in a timewarp long ago and that's why he needs the power rangers. The above picture is from the pilot, Zordon's name was Zoltar then. In the very first episode Zordon tells the Rangers what they must to to keep their powers, "Now that you have become Power Rangers, you must follow three basic rules or lose the protection of the power. First, never use your power for personal gain. Second, never escalate a battle unless Rita forces you. And finally, keep your identities secret; no one may know you are a Power Ranger." Sadly Zordon was distroyed, giving himself up for the sake of earth when he asked Andros, a space ranger, to shatter his energy tube.
