SPATIAL ERROR ANALYSIS

A Unified Application-Orientated Treatment

By Dr. David Y.K. Hsu ( ÐìÓÀ¿µ²©Ê¿ )*

The Involved computations required by spatial error problems, and the variety and number of error measures being used by engineers and scientists associated with

aerospace,
navigation, and
Global Positioning Systems (GPS)

can make finding a balance point between seller claims and buyer specifications a huge challenge.Spatial Error Analysis clearly defines the full range of error measures and shows the correct convertion from one to another so that comparison from a common ground can be achirved.

Spatial Error Analysis is an all-in-one sourcebook on error measurements in on-, two-, and three-dimentional spaces. This book features exhaustive, systematiccoverage of error measurement relationships, techniques, and solutions used to solve general correlted cases. It is packed with 62 tables.MATLAB-based M-files* for practical applications are available on the Web at

ftp://ftp.mathworks.com/pub/books/hsu

Solutions to two- and three- dimentional problems are presented without relying on equal standard deviations from each channels. They also make no assumption that the random variables of interest are independent or uncorrelated.

METHOD FOR ENDING CHINESE AND JAPANESE IDEOGRAPHIC CHARACTERS FOR COMPUTER ENTRY, RETRIEVAL, AND PROCESSING

Inventor:
Cho Jen Yu «\¯ªºÕ ( Óá×æìõ )*

Filed: Sep. 22,1994

ABSTRACT

This invention is for encoding of Chinese & Japanese ideographic characters which are

digitzed into a numeric format

compatible for computer access and retrival. Each Chinese & Japanese character is indexed by a numerical code. Each character is individually identified by an eight(8)-digit Geo-Stroke code, comprised of

a four(4)-figit FRAME code and
a four(4)-digit ID code.

The coding method confirms to

general writing habits,

resulting in an input method both easy and convenient for an operator to learn and utilize. Each of the (10) GeoStrokes used to input Chinese & Japanese characters is assigned to a numeric digit (0 - 9).Each of the GeoStrokes resembles one of the numeric digits available on the 10-key pad. By using this method both Chinese and Japanese ideographic character can be

easily input and received
by using a 10-key design.

By using this invention, both Chinese and Japanese computer users can now use

one entry system

to manipulate

both languages

and be completely

compatible

and

interchangeable.
