Jordan backed away from me, bumping into Jean-Claude
in the process.
"Don't let her get me!" He pleaded.
I think he was talking to Jean-Claude.Asking
the Master of the City to
protect him from the Executioner. Guess I'd really scared him.
Goody.
"I will not protect you from ma petite,"
Jean-Claude said flippantly,
walking to my side and dropping his arm around my waist.
I relaxed against the line of his body and
smiled at Jordan again. "If
you want to live, I'd go ask the police nicely to take you in."
Jordan nodded,almost frantically, and headed
downstairs, with me and
Jean-Claude close behind.
